Haste Spell Overpowered?

Many of you Clashers know about the haste spell and it being a great part to the update, but if you think about it logically, could it be ruining our game economy? Just think about it, the haste spell makes your troops go 2X FASTER THAN THE RAGE SPELL, AT HALF OF THE COST. If that's not overpowered, I don't know what is.

Its not twice as fast. Its around 60%. At least do the math correctly.

Then it's 60% overpowered

But the rage spell makes your units do up to 170% extra damage. That's 2.7x the base damage.

Have you even used it?

I'll reserve judgement until I've actually used it/had it used on my base.

The thing about haste spell is that without the added damage boost, you're basically wasting your time. Why? So Lon's and dragons are slow, you want them to go faster, right? Well what good is faster if they spend just as long at each target? By the time it's killed 2 buildings, which the two units never even moved, the spell is gone. From the test videos of them being used with dragons, they look like a complete waste.

Haste will not be replacing my use of rage in Loonion. I see no use for haste to be honest with you. Poison looks great for CC troops and Earthquake looks great for knocking down a lot of walls. I think id be using earthquake the most, maybe poison spell for pesky CC troops.

How can it have half the cost considering the fact that it is made with a totally different resource?
The rage spell increases their damage, does the haste spell?

Enough death loons and everything is getting one shotted anyway, the thing that matters is getting them over targets fast enough.. Now you have twice as many.

Those air units just get pummeled though as they move between targets. Even without the dps boost, haste could make loon raids so much more effective because loons will be able to move between targets quickly over a much larger area, depending on how many rages you trade off for hastes. With loons, especially in the beginning of a raid, the damage bump from rage is secondary to actually getting your loons to the enemy defenses.

I personally can't wait to have it in my arsenal when using Lavaloonion. Think I'll try 2 Rage, 2 Haste, 1 Heal, and 1 Poison to start. I believe hast will be a huge help with getting loons across the map more quickly.

The problem is, unless you are attack a base that is spread out, the distance the loons and dragons have to travel to their next target is minimal. The longest distance a loon travels without attacking is usually right when they get dropped because most people have barracks and mines at their edges so it takes a bit for them to hit defenses but once they're in, most defenses are close enough that a haste spell is worthless without the added damage boost from rage.

I watched the replay, it looks like garbage for use on those two troops and even worse for ground troops who will get hung up on walls without the added damage boost that the rage spell offers.

Grand scheme of it, I doubt I'll be using Haste. Not worth the loss of damage boost to make it worth it.

Drop 44 max balloons and 10 haste spells and you autowin?

I think it will be OP. A group of a couple balloons can destroy about any defensive building without a rage. People use rage primarily for the speed boost. Now there's a spell that makes them go even faster with half the housing space... I see potential, but SC would have tested it a bunch already.

Does a 2nd air sweeper help?

The Haste spell is also smaller than the rage spell impacting less troops. One little spell is going to ruin the economy of the game??? Are you exaggerating a little maybe?

Bingo! It seems to me that a lot of people overthink things and imagine all possible things that could happen without even trying it out first.

I will reserve judgement until I see for myself. I could see it either way. Does atk speed increase as well? The way I see it, laloon never really needed the dmg increase from the rage, just the speed increase. Now at th9 u can hold 9 haste spells instead of 4 rage spells. smaller area of effect tho.

On the other hand, as loons go down and there are less left, towards end of raid, the dmg boost is beneficial. so maybe haste wont make much of a difference, or will suck when being spammed in this way.

It seems that whenever there is an added feature like this, it is OP for a time, until a nerf is added. That may happen here too. Someone will come up with a way to exploit the update in ways supercell did not consider.

Haste is not OP because of its radius. Don't underestimate the smaller radius. In the heat of battle, it's not easy dropping them in a precise manner. And even when you do, the loons are only in the spell for a short time.

Don't get me wrong, it's a great spell, but I don't believe it's close to OP. Now that poison spell, that is close to being OP (don't tell SC though 😁)

Which is actually the point when you use loons.

For dragons haste is waste correct because they will get to destroy any target. but its useful with baloons especially since you will know where they will go. You will haste your baloons from one defense to another which really helps (from point a to point b) as long as you know the pathing of your loons

It is op. The duration is also twice as long. It closes the gap to the distance of the target mitigating the damage caused in that time. It'll be crazy for loon raids. Maybe even dragon and pekka raids. Could be used to close that distance in those final seconds of a raid.

It's definitely gonna get nerfed.

Oh joy my troops are going to run to the building just to sit there the normal amount of time before taking 2 steps to the next building......

Now the real problem is everytime something good comes up on offense, someone always cries

If by overpowered you mean over rated, then yes! Haste is great for farming with giants but in war it's really not that useful to me poison is the biggie, it allows any army that used to zap the CC to bring an extra spell. I can also see some potential in EQ...but not as much. And yes I've tried haste out with loons but I wasn't impressed. I'd rather just use rage....now for something like a Hog attack where you lure the CC haste could be cool...but I'd still rather just use a poison or two for CC/skellies

We will not know for a least a couple of weeks, how strong or weak the new spells are. Once everyone gets up to speed and we have had lots of testing by different players using different attack styles.
