Hi John,
caugth golden speckled dace today, with a new record 3797..
Hope it worked now
Hi to all HD fishing experts!
HELP! my fishing is awful!
just started...read the guide, watched the tute (x 6), read some threads
using worm lures to practice and hone my skills, have caught (and kept) 2 x fish, but another 3 attempts where I actually did catch the fish cos they showed me the pic with their weight etc, (true, they were "this...........big!"), but then from memory..."plop" (?) and maybe a duck in the water, and no record of the fish in my book, am short the lures, and locked out of the fishing zones.
WHERE ARE MY FISH? :(
The first 2 (caught & kept) were recorded immeditely in my log...and paid with diamonds ( :) )
The next 3...nada! No proof except the missing lures and being locked out.
WHERE ARE MY FISH? WHERE ARE MY LURES?
And...what went wrong?
please pity the novice and help me to understand...
WHERE ARE MY FISH? WHERE ARE MY LURES? AND WHERE ARE MY DIAMONDS!!!???
thank you
Daft question, but were your +3 fish a totally different species, or the same fish with the same colour award...?? You only register new fish in your scrapbook (and get your diamonds) with a new/different colour award.. If they were totally new fish, then you will have to get in touch with SC support... Not 100% sure but I think this has happen to other people..
John.
I don't think that sounds like a daft question at all. Donsta - you say you're using worm lures to practice, so you're only going to catch two different types of fish - Huchen and Copper Redhorse. Your scrapbook only gets involved if you:
a) get a new weight medal (eg you've caught a bronze one already but you catch a gold or silver)
b) catch a new fish entirely, and you're not going to do that with a worm lure if you've already got Huchen and Copper Redhorse.
If you look in your barn you should be accumulating fish fillets with each fish you caught though, so you should have 5 now unless you've used them.
All of the gold awarded fishing areas are now getting posted on this thread -
http://forum.supercell.net/showthrea...-fishing-going
If you do manage to get any GOLD awards, please try to remember the AREA number, and the correct LURE colour. You know how important this is to save wasting those precious vouchers... lol.
John.
Ok, knew Id hook me some fishing pros eventually!
Im going to try not to be too vague about this, but it was a while back now...so thinking, thinking, thinking...
I'd saved 3 worm and one green lure to start-out with that much Im pretty sure of.
Yes, 1 & 2 probably were the 2 types of fish you mention (very cluey of you Velcro!)...cos yes, I was using worm bait only for my first 2 catches.
But then I had a green lure and caught a fish with that too so who knows?
Not realising they don't show "each catch" in the brag-book probably threw me. And as I got 2 diamonds for the 1st 2 x catches (diff. fish), I might've freaked 'just a little' when the same thing didn't happen again for the 3rd, and 4th.
But I did end the session with 3 types of fish (I thought)...so one was definitely not registered in the book (green lured one?). Why cant they date our catches? Again, cant be 100% certain as it was so long ago for me.
No I didn't take note of the fillets...who cares about those things when you have your pole in the pond? LOL But a clever point too! (Yes, been and gone to the fish market I'm afraid).
It really doesn't matter tho, just shows I wasn't prepared or didn't understand what would occur with the catch-type-count thing. Might be nice if that was in "the book of fishing" (you're gonna tell me it is now I just know it!)
Anyway...Im nice and quiet and calm now so Im ok to go fishing again!
Thanks for replying to my desperate pleas...Oh, and is there somewhere you can go to see just how big your fish 'really' are (in comparison I mean)?
Questions about the net please...?
I have a purple/pink net in the water with fish all around it.
a) how do I know when to bring it in?
b) is there a special way to bring it in, or do you just "tap" the net (or another method)?
This would be very helpful indeedy thanks!
It's a mystery net, (5 diamonds a throw...) they take a long time... If you tap it, it will either tell you how long it has left, or it will pop up out of the water and just tap it again to reap your rewards... If you are really lucky, you might even get a pearl to show off...??? lol.
John.
The record top catches for weight are on the previous page, but when it changes or gets updated, it always follows through the thread, so nearly always on the last page or thereabouts. Beat any of those beauties if you can... The fishing area is practically a whole new game on it's own...
Check out the other links in my post as they have tons of hints, help, and info for when you really want to try your hand... I am pretty sure when you get a new/different fish it will register in your scrapbook, just keep a keen eye on what you get.
John.
Now that is truly depressing if I actually (and accidentally mind you), paid 5 diamonds for that? A pearl? Not even fish? Might be tempted to leave it there if it wasn't in such a good spot! Dang!
Ok, so no trick to bringing the nets in...something I cant stuff-up?! Now theres the bonus!
Thanks John
John as you seem to man this thread, I'll have to pester you again...sorry! OR ANYONE WHO KNOWS PLEASE?
when you have a mo...no rush, but...
I cannot find the/a page that shows fish types/biggest weights/caught by in this thread.
if you mean this link...http://forum.supercell.net/showthrea...ard-event-fish
again, I can only see individual reporting (and mainly from the event?)
I'm lost in the thread...just trying to gauge how I'm doing in the "it was this big!" dept.
Like I said...no rush.
Thanks
Thank you for posting this John.
It is the first time Ive seen it. (Won't lose it.)
BTW: Realise Ive posted a lot of questions...and I appreciate your patient replies.
I don't especially enjoy having to display my ignorance, but there you go.
I'll wing it from now on...but thanks for all your help so far :)
And yes, it is another game entirely.
It's not a case of being ignorant, it's just a matter of knowing where things are... lol. There is quite a lot of people who are not in the least interested in the fishing side of the game, but there is a lot of people who are, which is the reason I created these threads when the fishing update kicked in a few months ago... It just turned out to be an incredibly difficult section to complete, and a lot bigger than we all anticipated of course...!!! lol.
The table always moves to the end of the thread when it gets updated/changed, or a page or two's gap btw... Most of these record weights will take some beating now, so good luck trying...
John.
Got a new record for the Copper Redhorse I think.. 3.953
Hope the attachment works.
Got me a Sauger 3,843 ;)
Seeing as these are gold awarded fish, if you guys can remember which colour lure and fishing area, can you post the info on the other fishing thread, ("How is your fishing going" - the link is in the table) as I am now adding this extra info as well, as it will help other players greatly. Thanks.
John.
Hi,
cant find this info anywhere...probably cos its a silly question, but I'm on a roll lately so ill ask anyway!
...just wondering how many areas there are to open in total and when they open?
Im level 36 and have 8 spots open...from the pic, it looks like this is it (8 spots), but I just wanted to double check before offloading some tools.
(It appears there could be more given the mist and extent if blank space on screen)
thank you
I think that's it. There are some FAQ answers somewhere that are either wrong or out of date - it talks about areas you haven't yet unlocked being "covered in mist" but I've never seen anyone else's fishing areas available beyond those that are cordoned off to begin with. So on that basis I think there are only 8.
Thanks for replying Velcro.
Seems that way to me...given the most recent info BOROYOB posted (via a link to this thread ) had only the 8 numbered spot pics.
But I too saw that bit about new spots "covered in mist"...and I gotta lot of mist! So it made me wonder....
Also got a swag of expansion items taking up precious room!
Guess then 8 it is. Haven't seen different.
Its just so damn scary selling off these tools it took an eon to get only to find "oh yeah, you got xxx more to open yet"!
If you're selling loads, wait for me to friend you and camp outside your shop. Lol
There is definitely only 8 areas at the moment.. The extra mist could be an expansion in a later update..?? We could do with some extra land, rather than more fishing areas..!!
John.
Please can someone repeat the details of which area is which? I thought we counted anticlockwise from the hut, but I see Salmon come from area 8 and I've only caught a salmon in the stream, which would be 7 from that method... is there a piccie anywhere?
Hi John,
Just wondering if it might be worth considering having the "weight caught table" and the "which fish where with what pic" on the "all about fishing" sticky thread perhaps? or somewhere like it?
Its important info that gets referred to frequently.
Maybe then folks like me can just go straight there and stop bothering you with the same questions, and stop getting lost searching thru the mist in this mammoth thread...
I like fishing for fish, not so much for posts! LOL
ps question please...? What is meant by the term..."TIP: If you hook one and it's not the correct inner circle size, just let it go... (You DO NOT lose your lure..)
me no understandanemt?
blue lure for fall fish. 3.087 lbs
purple lure for blue spotted sunfish 3.974 lbs
gold lure for yellow bass 4.337 lbs
Thanks, but that info is already posted, and none of these fish beat any existing records... If you can remember which area, and which coloured award, can you post it on the "how is your fishing" thread, as I am updating all that info on there now. The link is in the table.
John.
These fishing threads have been ongoing for months, since the fishing update... They just got bigger and bigger as we went along, and with hindsight, one total info thread might have worked, but all the info would not fit into one page size table..?? There has been a great deal of help from lots of people to get these threads to where they are now... I don't mind answering questions to help out..
This thread is basically for the heaviest fish caught by forum members as a little bit of friendly competition.
The other fishing thread is the main one for which lures, areas, and different awards, and that is where you will find most info for trying to get all your 90 fishing awards.
Re. The tip - there is an "outer" circle, and an "inner" circle when you hook a fish (had you noticed that there are three different sizes of inner circles...?? I have just brought the picture forward for you on the other thread, this should explain) and it's not the correct size for the fish you are trying to catch, just let it go... It's to save you wasting some of your more valuable lures... You will lose a lot anyway trying to get all 90 awards, don't expect to get them all in a week or two...!!! lol.
John.
Righto John, thanks for explaining the pages. It is a little difficult to follow when they're so..."unfamiliar"?
I do appreciate that an enormous amount of work has gone into collecting and collating all the different data, so I wasn't necessarily criticising the content of the current threads, just that they seem a little confusing to the newbies who are addled enough already!
A short summary page with the appropriate links was more the idea I was getting at (or adding them to the existing main sticky page link), but I'm sure the more I trawl thru them, the more familiar they will become now you've explained their differences...tho re-naming the threads as per their content might be helpful. Maybe "Hows your fishing" parts 1 & 2 is a tad vague, but you don't mess with a system that works!
Appreciate the explanation about the rings, but will need to think on all that a bit more. Hmmm....ie if you catch one in the inner ring, they're keepers, and the outer ring you just let em go?
So much to learn! Thank goodness we don't have to tie knots as well! ;)
Anyway, am grateful that you take the time to respond to our (my) frustrating and repetitive posts. Not sure how you got the mantle for "keeper of the fishing threads", but I acknowledge your dedication to maintaining it, and your patience in educating those who cannot fish (or read and understand these threads). Im sure you'd much rather be fishing!
Oh and BTW, congrats on your TWO recent "award" catches...a great achievement well deserved!

Hiya John here's a pic of my Rainbowfish and its weight, 2.869 lbs.
i used a Green lure, fish caught at Fishing Area No. 4
Thanks.
Isser.
Well done Isser, that's two records for you now.. If you catch any fish at all, I am now adding the different coloured awards for each fish and area in the main fishing thread. ("How is your fishing going" - the link is in the table..)
The info I need is which fish, which area, which lure, which award, and which inner circle size (most of this info is in though, but there still might be some new stuff...??) That's 5 things to remember in all..
John.
Thank you John. Uh, i cant seem to remember which inner circle size it was. It sure felt like it was the smallest circle because it was hard and we played tug-o-war for quite a while haha. But i am not very sure, sorry for that. As for the coloured award, i am not sure too. I have been keeping my diamonds in the fish book because of problems of mistakenly using diamonds so i dont know which is the latest. Ill take screenshots of my current fish colored awards for reference in the future. I just read some details in the other thread. Next time i will pay more attention. For a while now im in the 'not-much-to-do-in-hayday' phase however this fishing thread keeps me going. Thank you and to everyone who made this thread. :)
Happy Holidays/ Merry Christmas to you all!
Isser
Isser, I'm pretty sure all the inner circle sizes are in place now, but there is the possibility of a missed or new one, I don't know..?? Certainly no apology needed, as it's something I've just started working on to help people out even more... lol. All of the new records are gold awarded btw.. Best wishes to you and yours as well.
John.
Hiya John, i have friend, Deb, who can't seem to log on to this forum. After she's asked of the password it takes her to her email address and some problems occur. anyway, enough of my blabbering haha. Deb has a Greater Redhorse weighing 3.921 lbs. is it ok if i post the picture for her? i will wait for your response as i am not sure if posting a pic of a top-weight fish for friend is allowed :) --in case allowed, record would be under her name of course :p
thanks John (and sorry if you will be bumped off the record for Greater Redhorse!!) :)
Isser
I think I'll have to disallow that one, especially as it's knocking one of my record fish off..!! lol. Only kidding, post the details up.
Congrats, I have added it to the table for you. Any chance you could post a pic, just to verify..?? You can delete it afterwards.
John.
Greater Redhorse fish by Deb
Thanks!
Isser
Just want to thank you for your great fishing advice and the time you take to advise others.
Thanks to all of you I'm now really enjoying fishing!
now have to fill boat orders to build my vouchers back up so I can fish more.
CsGranny :o
I posted one in my post but here it is again. Let me know if you can't see it?Quote:
Congrats, I have added it to the table for you. Any chance you could post a pic, just to verify..?? You can delete it afterwards.
John.
Hi CSGranny!
Funny that...how you can get 'hooked' on fishing!
It wasn't much fun for me at first either, but then it kinda grabs you once you catch a few diamonds and gold catches in that gloat book doesn't it?
Now if I could only work out how to stop snapping the damned line whenever a "zinger" hits, I just might get a record catch....one day :)
That's weird, there was no pic in your original post, (I would not have asked otherwise) but it's there now..??? Must have been in "The Twiglet Zone"..!! lol. You can delete them now if you want to get your space back. I had already posted it anyway. Thanks for reposting.
John.
You are more than likely jerking really hard and quick in the opposite direction..?? It's normal, so try and puuuuuulll slowly, smoothly and evenly, and draw the fish back in, and not always exactly opposite either.. It's not easy to learn, but it's more effective at keeping those line breakers on.
Imagine a clock, and your fish it at 12:00, try dragging it at 20 past or 20 to the hour instead..
John.
Just trying to help others progress, as is everyone else who has contributed to these threads, and it's a lot of people as you may have noticed..?? lol. Nice to be appreciated though. I don't know what level you are at, but can get vouchers for jewellery and bullion bars (made in the jewellery kiosk and smelters respectively) truck orders as well.
John.
Taking a break from fishing, I'm saving my vouchers for decorations.
What does the flower thing on top of my fish picture mean...? I'm confused. I had 2 on 2 pictures, now I have one.
I cannot get the Asp, argh. I have tried for so many times. None of the purple color, medium circle ever acts zingy. Oh well. 61+12 for me now
Asp, finally! Caught a silver one, area 7, purple lure. So now my book has all the pictures and now the hardest part begins: catching all weights :D
GC: DJ Autumn
Arctic Char - 4.839
Attachment 27040
GC: DJ Autumn
Yellow Perch 3.871
Attachment 27041
Caught a Zander at 11.975 pounds
I would like to submit this Spotted sunfish, just barely above.
Attachment 27095
Shadow bass new record
Fallfish - Gold: 3.827 pounds
I believe this beats the old record for Fallfish. Can't remember where I caught it, sorry.
With the arctic char and fallfish getting new records that leaves only 3 fish left in the .7's.
bitterling at 3.781
grass carp at 2.787
speckled dace at 3.797
I still think there is some five pounders in there Mike..?? There's a couple that are very close... Largemouth Bass at 4.955lbs must be favourite.. That would be a nice "first" for someone, and would certainly take some beating.
John.
I caught him yesterday. :D
I just notice of mine that the weight of fallfish is the most (3.909)
http://i.imgur.com/Pj3BKjl.jpg
Maybe this kind of fish also can be added?
Attachment 28262
The top weights of the special event fish can be found in this thread:
http://forum.supercell.net/showthrea...ard-event-fish (first page, first post)
I have a new record for Huchen
Don't really know were to put my update for the new fish. I have only cought the sockey salmon. Bronze and silver medal
http://s1367.photobucket.com/user/mysstund/library/?sort=3&page=1
Not hard as you might find out
Gold weight sockey salmon. Area 3, worm lure, large inner circle
*EDIT* Cough cough. Apparently Alcibiades has caught a heavier sockeye already, proof in the regular fishing thread....oh well, in my mind I held the record for all of 10 seconds, haha!:D
this is a repost of gold medal goldfish. 4.671 and 4.559. caught in area 10 with small gold lures.
Got four new fish all silver medal
http://s1367.photobucket.com/user/my...?sort=3&page=1
We are in the same nehigborhood and both of us likes to talk about the fishing. Sir Daniel as well
Hi Mysstund,
you are my all time hero when it comes to fishing in Hay Day.
No doubt you'll be the first again to catch all new fish.
Can you share which lure you used in which area for the new fish you caught?
This will help John update his threads.
PS. How is everybody liking the new update?
I'm still offshore, so won't be able to play for at least a week!!
Bad planning, going offshore when a new update is released!! :(
check out the original fish thread. it has all the info you will need. I caught all 4 new fish in the first hr so they aren't to hard to catch. this thread is for record size fish only please.
If you go to the record fish chart (currently post 586)and go to the bottom of the list, you will see the threads that you can click on that involve fishing, achievements, mastery's. you are looking for the the top one called 'how is your fishing going'.
good luck to you when you get back to go fishing.
Another temporary record John. Lol
4.879 sockey caught with feet;). Lol, I couldn't resist:)
4.879 sockeye salmon caught in area 5 with large worm.
Damn!!
I wanna fish too!!!
I'm offshore and don't have access to the game.
Need to wait at least another week before being back onshore.
It's "terrible" reading all those catches of new fish while I'm not able to fish myself!
Have fun fishing everybody.
PS. Do we know already of the new fish what size inner circle they have, how they react, where they can be caught?
I wonder why this fish is so oddly named. A quick google suggests to me that all the other fish are named after real ones, but there's only a sockeye salmon - not a sockey one. Mistake? Deliberate?
This sort of thing bugs me - particularly since the two words have completely different pronunciation.
All the info is on the main fishing thread as usual.. All that lovely info about the new Goldfish, Black Bullhead, Sockeye Salmon, and White Catfish... Those new fish are really colourful, the Sockeye looks like a huge Red Bellied Piranha, and you should see that new Catfish.. hehe.. Sorry, just winding you up, you can diss me later..
John.
White catfish in area 9 with small blue lure.
2.711 lbs is gold medal and currently the largest.
I have 3 of the 4 new fish records now. Yahoooooooo
You need to change your email notifications from instant to daily or weekly so I can enjoy those longer. :p:cool:
Attachment 28519
Record for the black bullhead, caught with green lure, area 9
I am so happy. I cannot believe I did it.
i caught all 12 new fish medals and this last one is the black bullhead at area 9 with small gold lure.
2.837 lbs
