Who's Caught the Heaviest Fish?

IMPORTANT FOR NEW VISITORS TO THE THREAD -

The latest table on fishing records can be always found on THE LAST PAGE (or so) of this thread.. The table always follows the thread due to the constant updating.

Ok... How about "reply with quote" with a picture for proof, and people can edit the table themselves... It's easy enough to just backspace the question marks out..?? Just please keep the alignment correct, as it was a pain to set up...!!! (A table maker would have helped..?? Lol. The date might be a bad idea as well, because it does not show... Again, help or comments...

The original post was going to be based on trust, as the mods will know what the top weights are (??) and would therefore know if anyone was *herrrrrmmm* exaggerating... Lol. Just trying to keep it compact, rather than reading reams of pages..
Lets call it a w.i.p. till it's sorted..???

We mods don't know top weights :). I was thinking system where one post pictures of fishes caught, you check them out edit and add info to first post chart? Only if player has bigger ones that already are in chart. Once you confirm that users fish been handled, user would delete post with pics (making compact).

Do you mods know if the fishes are randomly located or are the pictures a good clear indication of where to catch them? Or is it random?

I don't want to waste a gold voucher if I could end up with something I could catch with a green one... If that makes any sense.

The problem I see with the "who caught the biggest fish" thing is that it looks like Supercell did not make that many different fish weights.

A number of my fish weights end in .229 and .135. It looks like some of the pictures also have those same exact weights.

I think there will be a lot of people who have the same exact weights.

What I think would be nice is to see who can catch the first of each fish in the "gold" weight class. I have caught 43 fish as of this AM and have not rec'd any in the "gold" class

Has anyone out there caught a "gold" weight class fish??

Plaineater makes a valid point about the weights.

Here you can see only that the biggest Copper Redhorse I've caught is 3.613 lb, how do we know it's the gold one? What if it's a very fat silver medalist? :D

How come you have only caught one, but the B, S, and GOLD awards are all showing...??? I did not know/think you could get a gold awarded fish with one catch...???

As long as your "gold" symbol is lit up then you would know 100% for sure that the gold level fish is the 3.613 lb. one because it says "Biggest Catch". It cannot be the silver one because a silver level fish would have to weigh less than your "biggest catch".

That's what I thought... Hmmmm... Who's confusing who here... Lol... We are looking for gold awarded fish only, because the weights of the fish dictate the colour of the award, but the gold WILL be the heaviest of them all. Hope that makes sense.

Can anyone read the small print in the log book beside the fish? Is it telling where that fish can be caught?

Ah yes, I suppose that once you've nailed your goldfish and gotten the diamonds for it the biggest catch in the scrapbook won't change even if you'd catch a bigger fish later?

It would - if you get an even bigger one than the one that netted you the Gold medal in first place, it should still update. Or at least it wouldn't make sense otherwise, after all if you catch a bronze and get the award and diamond and then catch a heavier one that's still bronze, the number updates, even though you don't get any award. Not sure if there is more than one weight that awards gold, however, my guess is that only the very heaviest of each class possible awards gold. I guess we'll know when more people have golds and can compare their mass, I have yet to get my first gold medal.

Your'e on, and the lure is not a problem as they are listed for folks to try out different ones. There is only six fish missing from the list now, and will update as they come in...

lol. With a sig like that as well...?? Now we are sorted, it's easy... As it's still early on in the fishing game, people are starting to show their fish which achieve the "harder to get" gold award, meaning they are the biggest and heaviest category... So when you eventually catch a fish which fills your gold award achievement and beats any of the weights shown, get it sent in and be recognised... Hope that explains it for you...???

Good suggestion, but you will find you can catch the some of the same fish in different areas... If there are any that are specific to only one area, I have not heard yet...???

I believe there are areas where you can only get certain fish and here is why i think that....

I had hooked 65 fish up until 10 minutes ago. I just unlocked the Deep Water Fishing Spot that is to the left of the sunken ship area...this one took 20 of each expansion item i think.

My first fish caught in that spot was the Rainbow Fish....and i had not caught that particular fish up
until then.

***I still have 1 more area to unlock and i am willing to bet the first fish caught in that area will be something new also.

Yellow Bass

So far only caught just one of these fish and it was the heaviest one 4.613lbs, this is the only gold award so far although have all 3 rainbow fish

Annoyed!!

I am so annoyed because I just managed to catch my first salmon (got 3 diamonds, big fish), and of course the game disconnected. When I got back 3 seconds after, the salmon was gone, the lure was gone, the diamonds was gone. Also I used a very long time to catch it, very difficult - fast swimmer and very little "hole". Had to try many times before I got the right fish. (Of course I didn't know it was a salmon, but I knew it was rare). And the most annoying part was that the fishing area I used was blocked, still I lost everything else. How is it possible?? So angry. Can someone please remind me that this is just a game? Lol

Howdy neighbour (you are on my friend's list) I know what you mean, that happened to me once, not with the fishing but something else, yes those salmon sure know how to fight, I lost a fish in the same spot and reckon it was the same fish but just today got my first salmon and a gold reward!!! hope your problem gets resolved.

Congratulations and thanks for your consideration! I also got the gold reward, so that adds a little bit more frustration. I have lost a lot of diamonds before in this game when I misclicked something, but I have never been so angry at this game before as today. I don't think I get the salmons picture in my book again though :( not until I catch one again at least.

Just got back in the house after cleaning my fish pond out again...!!! (Seriously.. lol) Took me hours... Things are changing fast now, and thanks for updating/correcting all your info... I have updated the table above again to suit, and I think it's all correct up to this post..?? Please let me know if I have missed anything out, or added incorrect info.

If anyone apart from myself verifies any of the pics, can you add a following line of text with the necessary info - I will only need the name and weight because it will be gold awarded anyway... That's unless it's any of the missing ones of course, then I'll need to add the lure info as well.. Even though the layout is sort of finalised, it's still a pain scrolling back and forth, checking pics, etc... Lol.

I am still trying to avoid "reply with quote" too often, but will when there is a lot of info coming in, or a lot of changes...

Thanks, and your entry has been posted... I actually did not know whether it would take off, or be workable, but so far so good, and the competition is getting keener now... Not a lot of places to fill left, then it will be all down to the heaviest ones to get top spot for each fish..!! Btw, the missus is fishing like mad to get some of her places back.. Lol. She has finished opening all the extra areas, but no luck yet...

It seems to be workable for the moment. Let's just hope there will still be some competition in it when all the golden ones have been caught. Seems like the last 3 unknown fishes are pretty hard to catch, though :) I'm cherring for your missus to get those! Seems like she's putting alot of work into it. Hehe. Sorry mate. But we do want to see those fish, don't we. I'm still not getting any deeds since yesterday, but I do have some mallets if you want them? They're filling up my barn!! Damn things! lol. Might be the reason i'm not getting the deeds.

And by the way... I saw somewhere there is a fish called Brook Trout. Green lure, rocky water, smallest cirkel... but I have not managed to catch one yet. Think it got away from me twice, though... very persistent fish. :)

Hi John, this is the best I can do re posting the jpgs of the Striped Bass n Spotted Sunfish with the weight..
Not much luck with the info given for posting pictures I decided to do it my way taking the pic with my IPhone then stream to my IPad then attaching them...still would like to know how to post pics easier..

Thanks for getting back with your pics Viv.. You have submitted bronze awarded fish, and we are only looking for gold awarded fish...!! As it turns out, one has just been well beaten anyway, and the other one will now be deleted, sorry.. I really thought they were heavy enough to be gold, so I was also wrong... Hehe. I don't know whether any of the ones listed are "top weights" yet, so keep on fishing...

re. Your pictures, I noticed your other thread about getting .jpg's late last night, and as far as I know this info is correct, unless anyone can give you more info..???

Hi viv.

Screen shots are taken by pressing the home button (the round one with the little square on it at the bottom of the ipad frontside) and the sleep button (the one at the top right corner, black one on top of the ipad, not on the frontside). Press them at the same time and it takes a screenshot that is added to your photo album (that app with the flower). I hope this helps :)

Got a golden Rainbow smelt from the waterfall fishing area, 2.669 lbs. Doesn't seem very weighty. It's odd getting a gold fish before a bronze or silver.

Same here too! I have both bronze and silver in all the varieties I have managed to catch but no gold.:( Is there a better chance at winning gold if we use the bigger of the two lures we see in the scrapbook?:confused:

Not toooo sure to be honest... I keep thinking that the gold or purple lures would reel in the higher awards and weights, but I haven't got too many of those left now. What I have noticed is that some of them are getting trickier to catch now... I also still have two more areas to expand yet... Guess I will just keep chucking in those lures and see what comes up..??

Maybe you should let the fish go and cast again. I think most of the "lazy" fish I've caught have been bronze.
The more they fight the heavier they are? Or rarer? The smaller inner circle seems to be some kind of indicator as well, of either weight or rarity, but last time I got a silver something-I've-already-fished-a-few-of with a small circle, so who knows.

I've caught 21 different fish so far and have 4 of these as gold weights

Havent really been paying attention to circle but will in future, 2 of my gold weight fish were the first of that type caught.

Yezzzzzzzzz!!!! Landed a gold! Finally! Thanks to your advice Trigunet! I let a few fishes go, ones I felt were "lazy". The gold ones sure do put up a fight. Here is a pic. Though not one to make the charts, still my very first gold!!:D

P.S. managed to catch it with the green lure.....so the colour doesn't matter I think.

Some of my fish are impossible to catch. They will be in the middle of the circle, and then suddenly fling themselves to the edge and break the line. I always have the line pulled in the opposite direction and they ignore it. What am I doing wrong? Is it only the direction you pull that matters, or does the acceleration matter too?

Hehe... Good stuff... I have just had another go, and caught a few silvers... That's progress for me...!!! Keep all these tips coming in guys, and try to remember the particular areas for my other thread, which is also helping... You might need to see my listings first for the area names I am using, because some of the areas are doubled up...

The inner circle is breed specific, as far as I have been able to tell. For instance, the Coho Salmon will always have a small inner circle, no matter the weight, whereas the Rainbowfish will have a middle inner circle, no matter the weight. Yes I've since noticed that it seems to be more to do with the breed. The Rudd for instance was a really small circle one, didn't put up much of a fight, green lure, from the river mouth as well as the deep fishing between the ship wreck and reeds, haven't landed a golden one yet.
