My responses to the rants:
Rant #1 – Game play is balanced at the lower TH levels and the best way to keep the player base engaged is to add new content at the top. It gives non-gemmers something to look forward to, and gemmers something to buy that translates their expenditures into better troops and harder bases to beat.
#2 – I’m with Zach on this one. I think the amount you can loot from storages should be greatly increased. I’d like to see some genuine risk when I log off. SC’s claim that decreasing loot “helps new players” keep their loot is a euphemism for “slows down the alienation preemie TH9 and 10s feel… after all, they did spend some cash to get there in the hopes that domination would follow, and it doesn’t.” If someone needs $700,000 for that Xbox upgrade and they can get it from me, more power to them. I should either improve my base or spend it before I log off.
#3 – The game would no longer be worthwhile if everyone’s bases were maxed. “Catching up” should not be a goal unless you’re committed to staying in the top 200 players.
#4 – Same as #1
#5 – With loot penalties as they are, this should not be an issue. If loot penalties were decreased, then yes, TH10s could be very difficult to revenge. Which aligns nicely with how it should be.
#6 – This game is more fun and fun for a longer period of time if you gem 5 builders and little or nothing else. It’s the journey that’s important. You’re shortcutting your own satisfaction if you gem that next upgrade. Having raided and saved and cared about it is much more gratifying than buying it.
TL;DR – MoriartyLives can refute common complaints without using inflammatory tone or insulting anyone.
