The reason they put both spells i think is that to put more damage, but exclude them from one another unlike lightning does.
What I usually does in TH10 that has reachable / lureable CC:
- Lure the units out
- Put the units in such a way that they pass through 1-lightning-shot-able building, like builder's hut or heroes' altar
- When they are walking towards my unit and passed the mentioned building, zap!
- Result: Light units like archers and barbs dies, structures got destroyed, medium units like wizards and witches got weakened
- Repeat, and you can take another structure and destroy medium units completely, or light unit stragglers
- Cheap shot the TH10 (get 50%) by barching
This can be done in either higher leagues or at war to ensure win. The structure does not need to be light buildings. It can also be a loaded DE storage (pre-patch) to gain better DE since you will not penetrate the DE storage, just aiming for league bonus.
Now think. If they make the damage of earthquake or poison the same as lightning... These spells will be completely obsolete.
My personal opinion? Maybe earthquake can shatter walls (have higher damage to walls like WBs do) and they inflict generally higher damage to buildings compared to lightning.
Here's a question : Does earthquake spell causes damage to the heros or the cc troops?
The earthquake does damage to buildings, and not to units. This being said, the cc troops are safe from earthquake, so are the heroes. However, the earthquake spell will damage the hero altar since that is a building.
I have to say I am a little perplexed about the Quake spell as it seems to be a cheaper lightning spell but it is way too early to poo poo it. SC's senior geekmeisters will have extensively discussed, debated and tested this so there must be a very good reason for it and it is up to you and me to figure out the best way to utilise it.
It just seems that everything the earthquake spell can do, another troop or spell can do better.
Personally I think earthquake will help gowixx raids, drop one on the core so it covers xbows/infernos and walls on the side you want to leave from, you have just saved yourself several seconds of time where you would be taking damage
Will people be able to earthquake the dark storage? Instead of zappers theyll be quakers?
