I'm going for fast archer raids and need to know whether it's better to spend 8 or so gems to immediately get 70ish archers, or better to spend 25 gems to boost barracks for 45 mins?

I know its minor, but you can get 9 archers for 1 gem, but only 17 for 2 gems, ect. So do your troop gemming in 1 gem chunks for cheapest gemming.
I tracked my actual history over 45 minutes, and I spent about 60 gems on archers/goblins/giants/wb. Way better than the 100 it would have cost to boost, and I don't have to wait at all. The other problem with boosting is that when you get back from an attack, you have to live with what you had queued up - which might not be waht you spent on the battle.
You should gem them
I would suggest gemming troops!
boost, better if you see to try it for yourself :)
I would recommend boosting. It's cheaper in the long run and you can virtually non stop raid for 45 mins.
Well Jondrums gave the most in depth response, but some of you guys are still saying to boost. My army composition is all lvl 5 archers, and I'm just picking on weak TH7s and abandoned bases, so I don't think I'll be changing my mind with troop composition. I think I'll stick with gemming troops until someone can make a mathematical argument for boosting over gemming. Thanks for the help guys!
