Dark Spells - lack of creativity
Leaving aside whether Dark Spells are useful, or underpowered or not. The thing that jumps out at me is that SuperSell has been utterly uncreative in their effects. The spells appear to somewhat mimic the effects of standard spells.
Poison - a variation on lightning, albeit anti-troop.
Earthquake - a variation on lightning, albeit anti-buildings
Haste - a variation on Rage
Why not have unique dark spells, with unique and interesting attributes?
They could have had a spell to turn the allegiance of castle troops for example, so they fight for you. Perhaps only for 10 seconds?
They could have a had a spell that turned castle troops into frogs/chickens etc, again perhaps for a short time, instead of poison.
A dark spell could have rearranged defence buildings, randomly around, again for a time period. Or perhaps target 2 same size buildings manually, to permanently swap their positions for the duration.
A dark spell could have made a building fire healing potion/darts/balls instead of damage.
There are so many creative things they could have done. But no, we have very boring standard spells mimicking the normal spells.
