Great and now it's BB. Stars no longer matter because once either 50% or th is destroyed you lose all your stuff making CoC worthless to play because saving up is giving others free loot.
Dumb idea, and if u get trashed on crystal u dont deserve to be in it. Get to gold or silver leagues. Sniping on higher leagues is a part of farming without waisting troops /spell.
the defender loses nothing but few trophies which he can gain easily.
So, if I logoff with my TH outside, or near an edge, I lose ALL of my trophies?
i.e. No shield = stay in matchmaking forever.
The second this idea is implemented, there will be a huge trophy spike of non-stop sniping for trophies. Every player with a TH outside will lose all trophies to players active at the time of the update.
Even if I thought this was a good idea, there's no way to effectively implement it.
I don't think u should get rid of shields for destroying the TH because then the farming would be ruined but maybe shorten the time the shield u get when destroying the town hall?
you must be new here, I barched to champs. barch is VERY (notice the spelling) effective. you can get to the storages with ease, it involves SKILL something else you may not have heard of either. Check out the farmers in champs, BARCH. YES it works, learn it. Pushers choose not to barch because they want the guaranteed 1 star. You can even see the top players with their TH's outside for the quick shield.
Well I am new to the forum, but not the game, hense why I don't know how to directly reply to you. Anyway, if you couldn't tell I love barch, it's my favorite attack in the game, and I've used nothing apart from it, I also know you can get to champs with it and I'm sure I could do so myself. What I was getting at is that most people who farm with barch hunt for collector bases or storages close to the outside, and getting to the core of say a max th9 with only barch (no spells, no heroes, no cc) is practically impossible unless they have an aweful base design.
Forrester, you strike me as the kind of guy who frequently brings up the Hitler comparison in arguments, as not one thing you said up there even remotely described what iydem was proposing. Great job with the false assumptions though--just shamelessly going from "Exhibit: A" to "Exhibit: Swatstika" right there. (oh great look, now I'M doing it!)
to iydem, I think it's better just to stick to the league bonuses as a factor of stars for simplicity. I don't see anything wrong with what you said, and it could actually incentivise more players to protect their THs than what Gunkar proposed, but with all the "If, Then" constraints to looting and the percentage penalties they get from what they took if they don't win and by how much, you may start confusing an overwhelming number of players.
I find it hysterically ironic that this child--who just last week was one of the biggest proponents of getting rid of DE zapping due to it not being fair to be able to farm without wasting troops--is now subsequently shutting down your proposal b/c he says "being able to farm league bonuses without waIsting troops is a part of farming."
If you admittedly use the same technique, then how's it a problem? This technique isn't only used to preserve resources, it's also used to maintain trophy count. If you were wise, you'd make a camp full of archer and barbarians to target these bases and collect the bonus. In higher leagues, it becomes very rewarding and you spend minimal elixir doing so. Think about it... Spend hours assembling a strong army to raid 1 base for 300k gold/elixir and most likely getting raided in between attacks OR spend 15 minutes assembling a army and hitting 3 bases with their Town Hall out worth 120k each. Doesn't take a genius to see who's going to come out ahead first.
You're basically destroying the Farming Method.
People leave their Town Halls outside only to get the 12-hour Shield and to protect their Resources that are reserved for expensive upgrades.
As said in the game, the Town Hall is the heart of your village, which means the attacker gets the Victory by destroying it. That way, since the defenders lost the battle, they get a free 12-Hour Shield to prepare their troops for the revenge attack (just in case they don't have any troops ready).
"Please consider giving shield only for 40% (12h) or 80% (16h) damage, not for just loosing battle. To balance that maybe put tiny (1-2h?) shield for defender even for 1% damage or single trap/any cc troop lost, to give him chance to recover before next attack."
- To give the defender a chance to recover? 12 hours is good enough to help him/her prepare his army for revenge. 1 or 2 hours isn't enough as one Spell takes about 30 to 45 minutes to create one, and a level 4 (or higher) Spell Factory won't finish within the 1- or 2-Hour time limit.
- Free 12-Hour Shield after receiving a minimum of 40% damage, instead of the Town Hall (first star) itself?! Bye-bye hard-earned resources...you're all stolen by other people.
I just remembered: The purpose of the free 12-Hour Shield is to protect your resources while you take a break from Clash of Clans and get some rest. Oh, and the Shield does NOT prevent you from attacking other players. You can disable the Shield manually (by attacking other players) or automatically (by waiting for the countdown to finish).

- The game's mechanics is ruined and farming would be a lot more easier when TH-Sniping. Destroying the Town Hall grants you one Star: an instant WIN for the attacker. And the person you attacked had 500K+ resources. That win gave you all his available loot!
