I am absolutely annoyed at how truly difficult it can be to catch a fish on the iPhone!! I mean, seriously???? After a dozen attempt I have given up!! I've caught 5 previously but this is truly annoying me and I have very petite fingers!!

I'm not able to catch a single fish! The fish gets off the line as the circle closes in each time. The circle is still white then disappears.
I totally agree, same has happened with me. It's really frustrating me to the point where I just can't be bothered! Grrrr!
Obviously I'm not the only one who feels this way..
Although I play mostly on the iPad,I do play on the iPhone and with big fingers.
I guess its years of iOS iPhone game play.
Aussibob might have a point. I've played quite a few games on my iPhone over the past 4-5 years - so reeling in the fish is really undemanding gameplay for me.
Try and keep your finger a little to the side of the circle so you can see it, keeping it really gentle with small calm movements focusing on keeping the fish in the inner ring. Just a little practice, you'll get there! :)
Totally sympathise with anyone playing this game on an iPhone, and I have said previously I couldn't do it... As much as I like the game, I would not even attempt it... Must be so hard and frustrating... Good on ya' for trying though.
John.
Is it just me or is it also impossible to read the fish location hints on the I phone??!! Any tips how to read them?
I can't read it either, but I don't think it's a hint - it looks more like just a generic text that's the same for all the fish.
The hint is in the picture (although I've caught the same fish in different locations so I don't really know how much that holds water) - see the submerged barrel, the fishing s♥♥♥♥'s deck edge, the waterfall etc?
edit: hehe, my first hearts come from s h a c k :D
LOL - it is amusing how you can get all sorts of arsetits words by but the h-word gets treated like a criminal :D
Well, I'm not a hundred percent on that, but it looks the same. I wonder if you can see it clearly on the iPad? Anyone have a picture?
I play on an iPhone 4S and I do NOT think it is hard at all....i have only lost 1 fish out of about 30 and that is because he/she was swimming back and forth more than all the others I had.
I am playing on an iPhone 4 and have caught 48 fish so far. I lost 2 right in the beginning but we can call that practice. :) if you keep your line short and inside the red line. Then shorten more dragging to the green area you will get a fish. Good luck.
Ps I have never played on an iPad. I think I would be spoiled.
Thank you for all the responses.. I have played several games on the iPhone and I have owned every iPhone to date, this is just more of a challenge I guess considering how relaxing the game generally is with Hay Day. I think what annoys me more is that I can't see the centre circle! It is annoying and frustrating! Congrats to the people who have reeled them in well.
I guess maybe I could attempt it right handed, hmmm..
I've found it so much easier to catch fish on the iPhone if i use one of those stylus pens. That way your hand doesn't get in the way so much.
A short line is the key for me. I'll drop my line and pull it around till I see the fish shadow right next to the lure. I then put my finger close to the fish so I have a really short line. Once it bites you are able to pull it around easily and keep it within the green circle.
I've also only played on my phone.
I slid off the edge a couple of times :)
Keep the fishing line as short as you can and I angled the phone alot to be able to see lol
It's fun though :D over too quick
My van Didnt start this morning so after jump starting it I'm using the iPhone to play on it.
Trick for fishing I think is to try and centralize the catch first so there is room to move the line.
Ive been using circular and pull motions together to make them dizzy :)
I am playing on an iPhone too, and I have found that it is super sensitive to small motions of the line. Also, the line acts like a spring--the longer it is, the more force is applied to the fish. After a fish bites the line, I try to keep the line short and move it very little. If I have to make an adjustment, I try to keep the line short so as not to overcompensate and pull the fish out of the circle on the other side. I don't worry about it too much if I lose one, because one can just try again immediately, but mostly I have not been losing them since I have been mindful about keeping the line short. I hope that helps, iPhone players!
