Quick and Easy Guide - Where to farm? What troops to use?

Hey guys I’m Ash and I made a quick and easy guide for you guys to find the best trophy league to farm in and the best army you should use to farm in that league given your circumstances for FAST loot. This is from my experiences as a hardcore farmer who has played basically all Town Hall levels and every trophy league. I also lead 3 hardcore farming clans (Altar of Heroes - average player over 1 billion Gold Grab), and keep track of how everyone is performing. So I’ve compiled all that data into a simple, easy-to-use and understand guide.

A big mistake I see people making all the time is that they use powerful armies like Balloonion that are very good at breaking into bases, but take a long time to cook and the player ends up making very little loot in the long run. While other players are also using Balloonion but are making tons of loot. Why? Because those players who are using Balloonion are able to make so much is because they boost their barracks. So as you can see, farming fast and efficiently is not the same for everyone. If you don’t boost at all, then you shouldn’t be using an army composition consisting of Balloons and Minions.

There are many factors that weigh into what the best leagues for you to farm in are and the best troops for you to use to make loot fast. Such as, if you’re boosting your Barracks, if you’re using the Archer Queen, and if you’re a casual farmer or a hardcore farmer. And whether you’re focusing a lot on Dark Elixir or you just want a good distribution of all resources. All these weigh into what the best league and army is for YOU.

So with those factors in mind along with maximum efficiency and effectiveness in mind for highest potential loot per hour, I’ve created a spreadsheet for the difference types of players, their Town Hall level, and their circumstances.

Understanding the spreadsheet:

The tabs at the bottom indicate the different Town Hall levels. Find your Town Hall level. Then you will see the different categories in each row. Find the category that fits your base on whether you boost your barracks (and how many), if you have the Archer Queen available for farming, and how active you are as a player. A high activity player is a play who players over 2 hours a day, and low active player is who plays under 2 hours. A sporadic farmer is a person who plays very casually and inefficiently as a farmer by logging off after every raid and using powerful armies with inefficient (but very effective) troops such as Wizards or Healers for farming. You will then be given a list of army compositions and trophy leagues that are recommended for YOU. There are two sections, one is whether you’re looking for a good balance of all three resources (Gold, Elixir, or Dark Elixir) or are focusing mainly on Dark Elixir (As Dark Elixir is more abundant in higher leagues).

Additionally, if you would like more in depth help on how to train your troops or and exactly how many troops you should be training, or what the best composition or league is based off of the multiple options in the spreadsheet, you may ask here on this thread. Lvl 11 Queen + LvL 20 King
Maxed out Wizard tower, Mortar, X-Bow, Inferno, Tesla's
Been farming Crystal III for the past 3 to 4 months since I hit TH10 been doing fine getting 1 gold upgrade every 2 or 3 days witouth boosting.

Looking at your youtube vids and Town Hall charts above, it looks like i'm best of farming Silver 2 am I correct?

Both none boosted and boosted? I mainly wanna use your strat to finish of my lava walls and max lvl walls after that. I already knew about the silver league farming but never tryed it myself cause I didn't think it would work as well as you show us.

I'm mainly confused cause you mention master league aswell at 10b and 10b2

before I forget I play BAM all the time and I got 2+ hours a day.

I really feel like going back down but a part of me is very reluctant because i would feel that all my efforts of making it up to masters have gone down the drain except for the bonus 1000 gems. For your information i am a rusher and i followed Mogauth rush guide. I have all elixir buildings maxed except

1 dark barrack at level 2
1 drill at level 5
1 drill at level 3
4 barracks still have not unlock Pekka

I am at the process of getting them maxed asap including getting my King 5 and Queen 7 up to at least both 15 within the next 1 or 2 months. For dark troops I wanna get my Minions currently at 2 to at least 5, and Hound at 1 to maxed. What advise would you give to me ? Were you ever in my situation and how did you deal with it ? Did you feel reluctant going back down ?

Look on the bright side: if you go back down to Silver/Gold, you don't have to feel bad losing trophies getting easy DE. That is my problem in Masters 3 -- I want the DE but half the time I can't penetrate to reach the storage AND get the 50 percent with barch.

Based off Ash's chart, I would go category 9c or 10c for you. If you have max camps and max barch, go 10c on the chart then.

I attempted farming DE in Masters as a TH9 a while ago, but found that it doesn't meet my style. You have to boost and use the Archer Queen to really get the most out of it. Otherwise, you'll find that farming in the lower leagues is just more efficient as there not only easier bases but a rich source of TH8s, and bullying TH8s is a great way for a TH9 to make a living. You also don't want to concern yourself with maintaining trophies. When you're focusing a lot on maintaining trophies, you hurt your efficiency and make less loot.

Yea, you would be in category 9C. Which means if you want a good distribution of all resources, you should farm in Gold 1 or 2. Since you raid then log off, Silver will not be ideal for you as you will be constantly zapped (this may change during the update as Lightning Spells will no long damage Storages). If you're focusing more on DE, then Gold 1 or Crystal 3 would be best. Use BAM since you're not boosting anything, this will be the best way for you to quickly get an army so you can complete more raids.

Are you using your Heroes? from time to time I upgrade 1 of them when i got enough dark. (lvl 11 queen, lvl 20 king)
How much do you play? Do you play in long sessions or log off a lot? I can play 2/4 hour session every day and some casual attacks troughout the day
Anything else we may need to know: Should I farm my heroes first? always farmed crystal III since I hit 10, confused if I should be doing masters 3 or silver 2. Mainly wanna farm your way to finish my lava walls and get the blue walls in the shortest amount of time

Yea, you should always focus on upgrading your Heroes as much as possible.

If you're boosting 2 barracks and looking for great DE, then you should definitely move up to Masters 3 and use Lv7 Barch. You'll make DE fast with 500 DE league bonus. Masters 3 is also pretty good for Gold and Elixir because of the bonus. Target 1500+ DE per raid + 50% win for 500 DE or 150K Gold and 150k Elixir + 50% win for 100K each. You can expect to get make at least 2000 DE per raid or 500K in total resource per raid.

10B and 10B2 are just two great options for TH10 players who are very active and are using the Archer Queen for farming. You can make great loot at Silver League or Masters 3 (because of the league bonus and it's very easy to 50% bases with Lv7 Barch and AQ).

Yes you should definitely drop if you're not using your Archer Queen. Crystal 3 would be more benign, and use BAM (if you're not boosting) or GiBarch (if you're boosting).

Great guide, but you say if you are a TH10 with no barracks boosted and low activity (Which has been me lately) you should farm with barch. Ive learned that barch is far better boosted or if you have high activity, but if youre raiding every 2-3 hours, loonian is by far the better choice. It allows you to storage raid using spells (the loot from collectors makes up for the loot ypu lose building the army). This gives much more loot than barching every 2-3 hours, for example.

BAM and Barch are listed for low activity players who play in under 2 hour sessions. Farmers who log off for a long time after every raid to wait for such troops like Loonion are listed as having "sporadic" activity not low. And Loonion is listed as an option for sporadic farmers. :thumbsup:

Any sub-200 tips? I am thinking about sub 200 farming just for giggles. Any tips on what I should do, like taking breaks or playing for a couple hours at a time? Stronger army lik giant/wiz/healer or GiBarch or weaker armies such as Barch or BAM? Should I expect to go for bases with about 150k of each resource or 200k+?

If you don't know or if no one is sure, is it mini guide time?

No no don't go to sub 200, it's not viable for TH9 or 10s anymore as you'll be in clouds all day and find TH6s and 7s.

Best way to make a large profit is to play in long sessions without logging off and starting searching for raids when your camp is 75% full. If you're not boosting, definitely go with BAM. If you're boosting, do GiBarch or GiBAM. And you should go for 200k of each if attacking storages, but 150k of each is fine if you're attacking a dead base with collectors outside.

So far i'm not having much luck with this.

After testing for over 300 games here are some of my findings:

First I wen't to master III: First hour I had some descent loot nothing special though same as crystal league's, after that it went completely dry, even town hall snipes are very hard to find specially compared to crytal III and II. (haven't tryed Crystal I yet) The day after it was still completely dry even spending 150k nexting before even finding a town hall snipe.

So I decided to go all the way down to silver II: I still had a 1 hour boost left from Master league (2 barracks) and found 1.700.000 gold and 1.500.000 elixir in 1 hour, wich was really good if you ask me, so I got all excited.

Than I had to take a break for a day or two, because all my workers were busy building. Last night I started another 2 rax boost and things where completely dry again. I took me 2 hours to collect 2 million gold and far even far less elixir dind't check the exact number but only gained around 1 million tops.

Today I played a 4 hour session no boost BAM (14 min per army) and couldn't find anything in silver II and I made 1.2 million gold and 2 million elixir. To be fair I could have gotten more but they where all storage raids and would have required hero's, bombs and giants and full army's throwin in just to destroy all collectors if your lucky.

As of now i'm better of farming the old way, and get some townhall snipes now and than, to pay for the searching, and collect more dark while i'm at it.

I wasted 100-200k multiple times just to find a base during all of this, wich I have never done before in my entire coc carreer or whatever you wanna call it.

any suggestions cause i'm at a loss right now?

perhaps its just the update, i also believe that the removed allot of inactive accounts.

As I've mentioned prior to the update, expect bad loot in all leagues due to the high activity of players that the update will bring. We'll have to wait awhile for things to get back to normal. I will update the spreadsheet once things cool down and if there's any change.

Should I still be expecting bad loot? I'm a th9 farming in silver II and I'm not finding anything :(

I'm finding amazing loot right now in C3-C2

I am th9,farming at master 3,both heroes upgrading.Used Gibam to hit th9 bases offering 2000+ de when I had the queen.At masters most th9 are trophy bases with townhall in the middle,so if you have a queen its easy to get de,and 50% or townhall in storage raids.
Now that I dont have the queen I use bam with 4 wb,next until I get a fat th8 base from crystal.With master bonus all is going well.

This is my first post here. :D
And I'd like to know if BAM is efficient while farming DE or not due to the fact that it takes DE(even though a very little amount) to train minions.
For my info:
I'm a Town Hall 8(fairly new; 3 weeks old).
No Boosting(I don't gem and currently I'm saving for my 5th builder).
I have a level 7 Barbarian King.
I can play in long sessions, but I dont prefer to because it affects my phone's battery.
I'm currently staying in the Gold 3/Silver 1 trophy leagues to raid. I was previously residing in the Silver 3 range, where I was finding ton of collector raids and once i capped out my gold/elixir storages, I would go up to S1/G3 to farm DE.


I'm quite experienced with BArch but BAM is something that I've tried only 2-3 times and I've failed horribly.
Soooooo my question is that should I stick with BArch, or move on to BAM?
And what is the optimal amount of barbs, archers and minions that I should use?

I will start out this first paragraph saying welcome to the forums! It is best and very helpful for a new guy on the forums to check out the "New to Clash?" sub forum, it helps both new people to the game and/or the forums. Now on to the game part. From what I have heard in the last couple years on the forums here, BAM is faster to train because your norm barracks aren't full of barch, so it does take an extra couple mins off training time. I am like you and use barch all the time and only used BAM a handful of times. I would say that barch is the best in the long run. BAM apparently gets more DE tho, from what I've heard a few say.

I read all those guides before posting as I was very nervous. :p

And I'm gonna go up to G2/G1 and see what I'm getting there.
Also, I think I'm gonna have to get some experience with BAM as well

And for the army composition, I fill up 3 of my barracks with archers, 1 with barbs for barch.
For BAM, I used to fill up 2 with archers, 2 with barbs and the 2 dark ones with minions.
Am I doing this right or should I change my army composition?

2 dark barracks with minions means you will end up with too many minions.Its better to take 2 barracks barb,2 arch,and maybe 10 minions on each dark barrack.Play and see how much dark you are making in one session.If you feel minions are taking up too much de you can reduce the number.

I agree. BAM only needs 10-15 minions. Also, half and half with barch is super helpful. The barbs are supposed to act as attacking meatshields for archers, if you didn't alreay know.

I have one barracks at lvl 10 and other 3 at 9. So I fill the one with the 75 capacity with barbs and the rest three with archers for barching.
And yes I already knew that. I'm new to the forums, not to the game. :p
I think of barch as a cheaper version of giant+wiz attack strategy.

Ive been in m3 without a queen and no boosting BAM and havent had much luck recently after the update. Idk if i should go to c1/c2 cause my de gain is a lot slower and im really trying to power level my heros. Any advise is appreciated

I am a month old TH9, Need help with farming troops to be used...
My AQ is going to level 10 in 2 days... Currently using GAG but takes a higher training time... I belong to 9A/9B category... 9A most of the times, since i want to non stop upgrade my AQ.

I got my hogs to lvl5, Giants to lvl6, healer to lvl4 & golem currently going to lvl3 (focussing on wars also)
Want to check with using lvl5 barcher & lvl4 minion, will the farming be ok ? What would be recommended army composition i should be using ?

What do you think is the most reliable army composition to get league bonus in Master III without heroes and with minimal spell usage?

I have been farming league bonus with 1 barrack barbs + 3 barracks archers in Master III and I'm wondering if I could add a few other troops to improve my farming efficiency, which can be achieved with less nexting and higher success rate.

Possible "other troops" includes wall breaker, giant, wizard, minion, and maybe others. It's worth noting that since my AQ is always sleeping, GiBarch may not be as efficient as you demonstrated in the videos.

If none of them leads to significant improvement, I will start leveling freeze spell for clan war.
