Th8 War Strategy?

Hello! Im a low-mid ish town hall 8... any good strategies for 3 starring other mid-level town halls I might use with this army?

Ive been doing pretty good with Dragloonion against lower level th8s, but I need something that can regularly 2 or 3 star a mid level th8. Note that I am No1 in clan wars in my clan and there are no th9+s in it either, so I have no acess to golems, witches, lavahounds, and lv6 troops.Thank you! 
 
Also, I have no interest in full dragon attack unless absolutely nessesary. It takes too long to make and is just a bit...boring.

You're kind of hosed

Unlock the golems, upgrade your hogs. If you want out of the mass dragon attack at TH8, this is really your only option.

Three Strategies

There are only three strategies that I know of that will three star in war. Unfortunately you are best equipped to use only the dragon one which you said you did not like. So the goal now for you is to unlock golems and level up hogs. To put the strategies in the most simple terms...

Dragons with rage/heal: Funnel, spam drags, use rage to push toward the air defenses and heal as many drags as close to the air defenses/core as possible

Dragons with lightning: Lighting hardest to get to air defense, Funnel, Place drags, watch.

Hogs: Lure CC, Kill CC, deploy hogs, place heals over the 2x2 spaces where the hogs will be going.

GoWiPe: Lure CC, Kill CC, deploy golems, deploy wizards (funnel), place rage, deploy wall breakers, deploy pekkas, use rage and heal at core, watch.

You should look up guides or videos of TH8 strategies but those are your most common options. So your next step is again to unlock golems and level up hogs. If you are willing to use drags then upgrade your drags to 3. Good luck man.

I use GoWiVa at TH8 and like it better then GoWiPe. The Valkyries are like mini Pekkas and can be carried in larger quantities compared to Pekkas which takes up a lot more spaces in a 200 army space. Any time I use GoWiPe time runs out.

WiVa and WiPe are both solid options based on the base. I prefer hogs myself, but my clan uses a really good mix at TH8. You give up a bit of damage from max TH8 Valks compared to Pekkas, but the speed, kill radius and not double damage from teslas is the trade off. So like others said, get your troops all maxed. No reason you can't 3* max TH8 as a TH8 easily, once you learn the attacks.

Get out of that clan

You need to find yourself a better clan. One that has a better offering of clan troops. I would recommend trying to find a level 5 clan that ups the level of troops donated by one. That being said once you have that going for you, you will have a much easier time with dragloon raids. Level six balloons are a must have. I found myself in a similar situation a while back and changing clans definitely helped with my war wins.

But im also not leaving my clan.... I managed getting someone in with better troops.
Besides, I like the clan.

First off, you need level 3 dragons. Then you need level 4 hogs and level 5 wizards. Then we can start talking about effective war strategies.
