Possible resolution for older iOS Devices & Crash - Force Quit & Restart
Hey guys!
We have been looking into the crashes on older iOS devices, such as iPad1 and iPod Touch 4th gen, and it is simply running low on memory. While we are trying to optimize the game to run as expected on those devices, please try to follow the following guide to free up as much memory for Hay Day as possible. This guide is made based on the iPad 1, but the same guide works for iPod Touch 4th gen as well, just the device looks different. :)
STEP 1:
Double tap your Home button:
STEP 2:
Then you should see a row of open apps:
STEP 3:
Tap and HOLD one of the apps until they start to wiggle:
STEP 4:
When the apps start to wiggle, tap on the red icon in the left corner of each app:
STEP 5:
Continue to tap them until there are no apps running:
STEP 6:
Press the HOME button once again to get back, and then tap and hold the Sleep Button (marked below) until it asks to shut down. Shut it down, and then power it back up:
After you have completed these steps, launch Hay Day only (no other apps before it) and hopefully it works. As I said earlier in this post, we will try to optimize Hay Day in future updates, but to get you guys playing these steps are necessary if the game keeps crashing.
Let me know if this guide did the trick. Also, please note that if your device is jailbroken or if you have installed any apps/updates outside the official Apple store, we can not guarantee that anything will help.
Cheers,
Nick
Regarding expansions and decorations....
We have 10.2GB of available space on iPad.......only using 3.6
None of these things have worked
I have tried all of these things several times, with no luck at all. There were no problems until I updated the game.
Better but still crashing
On iPad 1 iOS 5.1.1
Followed all the steps. Was able to load app for first time since update, but after only a couple minutes of playing the game crashed again. Tried opening it again right away and it won't load.
(not sure if this info helps any but...) Have a lvl 49 farm, not fully expanded, part of a neighborhood. Crash occurred while trying to go to another farm, but had been able to go to others farms before the crash.
Very aggravating constantly crashing
Prior to last update I had no problem with the game on my iPad 1.
since this last update this app crashes at least 6 to 10 times during 2-3 hours of trying to play.
I have deleted all apps to gain memory, removed ALL decorations and followed the ♥♥♥♥down instructions a number of times and all for naught. Been a network engineer for 30 years and am a big gamer but never had the problems like I have had with this one....
Really disappointing.
Potential solution only very short term fix
Thank you Nick for this very short term fix. Would we be better of storing decorations for now? I have all the symptoms . I think I a level 88 with fishing and town fully expanded, that at level 28. Have purchased a few new pieces of property since the latest release of property. I usually start with about 110 or more free ram, and if I check after it crashes, it is usually down to 35 or so. The space is a non issue since I have 29 gb free. I am assuming that the new animations and decorations are using ram quickly. Before the update before the birthday update, I could listing to audio books and play Hay Day. Now, it is a fight to complete necessary tasks and contribute to the derby effort. Communication and shopping are counter productive. Having to have Tom buy tomatoes so I have enough to grow the 310 I need for the derby task. That shows you, can't usually type a message asking for help, or shop in the newspaper ads for someone selling...
Please see if you developers can find a memory leak or something.

What player will do if supercell not answering? We go to hell?

Please answer this too and I also sent 50 conversation texts to supercell via in-game report help me its over 31 hours now no one answering my questions ... Be professional :mad:

I have an iPad 1 and HeyDay will not load. How can I get my farm on my new android tablet?
I have it saved on game center, but not connected to Facebook. I do have a google account.
Any help appreciated.

I miss my farm too, and my neighborhood. They may kick me out since I cannot play or contribute to Derbys.
I am at level 58 or 59, nothing is completely expanded and I don't have many decorations. I understand that supercell is working on resolutions, ;) please keep us informed. I would like to move my game to my phone, but can't get it to load long enough to get signed into to Facebook and move it.
I need the same information, please.

Could use the same information. Thanks!
Regarding iOS Crashes on iPod 4D
To save on battery power, I habitually turn off any and all apps that are running in the background just as you suggested here, Nick. I've also erased redundant photos in my picture gallery, as well as deleted voice notes, and unwanted videos from my device. Even after all of this, turning the unit completely off and on again (after 5 minutes) HayDay still took 5+ minutes to load, and when it finally started playing the bird sounds with the HayDay welcome screen still loading, it would crash. If, and I do mean if, it loaded completely the movement was so buggy that it would overwhelm the iPod system, and boom...crash again.
Happily, I'm able to access my farm from my Android Tablet, which works flawlessly. I think that the iOS 4G's are just obsolete, and are unable to handle all the stuff HayDay needs to run smoothly. I blame the Tech, not SuperCell.
Irregardless, I love Hay Day, and have been playing for three years now! I can't imagine a day without visiting my farm, so I'm very relieved to have access to it on my Android Tablet. If not for that, it would be a sad day indeed as Hay Day simply will not load properly, no matter what I've done to free up RAM, on my iPod 4G.
Is SuperCell doing anything to fix this?
Is this ever going to be fixed? Or do they just ignore the complaining customers. Some people paid money for diamonds. I guess they want the money back.
Why are they not responding, why are the not solving this problem?
Still crashing, I can't get in the game at all!
It started with a couple crashing at the beginning, then I did all that has been told what to do in the FAQ, clean cache, close all the other apps, I even went to delete all the apps only kept hay day as game, I dont even open any other apps!
Then started not being able to go in the ads or help friends, as soon I clicked on one to go buying items or go to their farm to help, the game closed on me, then when I try to send a msg on support in the game itself, it crashed too...
And now it won't open at all...I even uninstall the game and reinstall but still won't load the game
This is so annoying and frustrating, I had given the leadership of my neighborhood to a friend while I was having problem with the game but could get in at the time, and request that friend to kick me out of the neighborhood cuz of not being able to participate in derby when I was crashing a lot but as I said now its not only crashing while going in ads or trying to help friend now it's worst, CAN'T GET IN THE GAME AT ALL!!!
Hay day Still crashes since summerpdate in june
Device: iphone 3gs
ios: 6.1.6
Available space: 8 Gb
I already tried to close all open apps en reboot my phone, didn't work at all.
I can't even get into the game, i only see the supercell screen, than the chicken and pig chase, load to get into the game. Than the screen turns black and i cannot play at all.
When will there be an update to fix this?
What a surprise, another crash
Well I managed on Wednesday to play for 5, yes count them 5, whole minutes before another blasted crash. Then cannot get past the title page. So I have read several books, gone out and frankly enjoyed myself. Guess what there is life after Hayday and it is quite good. Gee Nick I'm so happy that the break fixed those serious problems like double money for deliveries.Perhaps now you can work on the little problems such as fixing the game for the poor sods who have invested both time and money making your game a success.I forget you don't seem to bother looking at these pages. I am getting a new device soon and guess what, a supercell game will never contaminate my machine again. Your customer service sucks big time and you don't even have the manners to address the complaints or even keep people informed. I'm off to the real world. It's true after time you don't even miss the game, there are far more interesting games and activities out there.
Please stop the clouds. They use too much ram and we don't need them at every login
Dear Nick,
After following all your suggestions, I did not have luck with my iPad running 5.1.1. Using
your question regarding levels, expansions, and decor..... I removed all decoration. And since
the amount of open space on the hard drive in not a problem on my computer, I went after
freeing up RAM. I downloaded a program from iTunes called Memory Pro. It appears to freeze
available RAM. When I get 120 to 130 free, I can usually log on and play. But not with the
cloud filled screen. It takes many tries for the clouds to clear. So, how about you limit the
cloud to one time when a special even, rather than every time. I have gotten rid of my
decorations. And still have crashes when changes screens between fishing, town and the farm
itself.
if you are crashing a lot, you don't need the clouds to come up each time you try to access the game, since they are an obstacle on their own.
Your programmers need to economize on RAM required to play!

iPad 5.1.1 and also Android issue
Today is September 2, 2015 and HD still is crashing on our iPad 5.1.1 Crash usually occurs while flipping through the DD. Have not updated to get 3 year birthday cake or summer costumes. Level 52 with lots of expansion for machines and land left to do. Put all decorations in storage. Machine has tons of memory but HD is really slow to visit other farms and turning the pages of the DD. Only thing on this machine is HD.
Our family (nine of us playing their own farms, levels in the 80's and high 90's) also have farms on a couple of new Samsung Notepads. Quad processors and lots of memory. Works well but ever since we won quite a number of gramophones (12 or 14 of them) the battery life dropped down to about an hour and a bit. Put all but two gramophones in storage but didn't help battery much.
Just updated now cannot open Hay Day on iOS 5.1.1 With over 50gb space
Just updated and bow cannot open the game at all. Will have to get neighbourhood leader to boot me or others will suffer in Derby because supercell have messed up BIG TIME. Time and money invested in that farm all down the tubes now.
Unable to load farm after update ...
I assume this is my problem - ios 5.1.1
tap to launch hayday app, screen goes black, then back to main screen
anyone else have the same issue?
HayDay dont work iOS 5.1.1
