I'm at TH8, and I just unlocked golems. I haven't upgraded golems or valks, and my minions and hogs are still level 2 (max for TH7). I have upgraded my BK from 5 to 8, and I was wondering if I should keep focusing on my BK, or do Hogs to 4 or golems to 2 first?
Is BKs ability level 2 that much of a difference?
For farming, BK takes priority. But for war, I'll put hogs 4 above BK 10 especially if you already have BK 5. The 2 best strategies for TH8 are drags and hogs, both which does not depend on BK too much. I will say that BK 10 is a minimum requirement before jumping to TH9 though
You don't really notice hero level ups until you get an ability level up, so yes; it certainly helps.
But it depends on what your war strategy is. If it's Hogs/Balloons/Dragons the BK doesn't get much of a chance to help.
If you use a Golem based however you will really benefit from a stronger BK.
Get ur golems to level 2
I'm not a th8 so as far as the troops go, I'm not sure. What I can tell you, is that heros are extremely important at all levels of play and that you should focus on them whether you are a th8 or a th9 or a th10.
there will always be something else to upgrade. But I highly encourage you to always consider increasing your heros level. And yes levels that have an ability increase make a big difference.
Okay, thanks guys. I don't really have any problems farming, and I've been using drags for war because they are level 3, whereas I just unlocked golems and Pekkas, and hogs are still level 2.
I'll just put BK on hold until hogs are 4, then do BK to 9, golems, and lastly get BK to 10.
Hog 4 and Golem 2 first far better than BK 10.
I would go for the king upgrade then work on minions to use with balloons. Leave valk to vey last and go for golem when u can. I'm th 10 and have used valk to try it out, but not since. Golems are good for war attacks but if you can get your heros strong they help get the advantage.
GoWipe is also a very good strategy even for a TH8.Quote:

In my mind, it works like this: the faster I get him too level 10, the faster I have a barbarian King maxed out for th8 that will help me farm even better and doesnt need any more "down time for upgrades"
I upgraded my King/Queen to 15. Now I'm taking a break and catching up my Hogs and other dark troops. I mostly farm so having a strong King has been helpful.
Get your heal spell to 5 and hogs to 4. With the right placement, you can almost always 3 star any th8
I did the BK all the way to lvl 10 first, and I have not regretted it. He's great for farming. He plays defense. And he's there for you in wars. I find that the upgrade in special ability seems small the first time you hit it, but over the long run, it makes a big difference.
I followed up with Hogs to 4, then Golems 2 then Minions 4. Hogs because I wanted to have another war attack. Golems for a third war strat (and pekkas for a fourth). Minions because I use them for farming. They cut down on training time (BAM is the quickest army comp to train) and they're useful to jump walls, take down an opponent's King, or hit buildings left ungarded by buildings that can hit air troops.
The BK at TH8 really doesn't help too much. Maybe to take out the cc or something. You can war without him and get the same results. I really didn't think the BK was very good until he got to 20, where he is acceptable, but still a million miles behind my AQs usefulness. He's good to take out the opposing AQ and tank for a few.
I would value golems and hogs way more. But you need to get him to 10 before TH9, so you can concentrate on your AQ and all the DE troop upgrades.
for TH8 i recommend finishing those that will give you more trouble. and those are golems and valks and dark troops.
BK is cheap,. at level 10 costs jus 40k DE,, you will have ZERO trouble farming for that, so farm for your dark troops first
Get your Barb King to level 10. You're almost there. I got him out the way and ability lvl 2 is great. You can survive with dragons for a while. Golems and balks can still wreck a th8 at lvl 2. It's all opinion of course. But think your Barb King is ALWAYS with you.
When your pushing ,the few extra seconds on the BK level 10 tends to come through in the clutch. Just my opinion
As people have said mainly depends on your style of gameplay. If you farm mostly the bk is your best bet. If you war more then once a week you need the dark troops. A few dark troops will take you a long time anyway. So start a dark troop them farm only DE like mad for the time it takes to get the de troop researched but use it for the bk. is what I did.
level 3 hog rider takes 10 days upgrade. With good attacks on the right bases you should be able to get 40k de within the upgrade time and maybe have enough to get a level of minion or something depending on your farming ability
