Gemming, etc.
This is an event, not a long term proposal. Yes, it would allow some clans to advance quickly, but if the event was short, you wouldn't be able to jump more than a level. And Supercell already did a double clan xp event to jump start the new clan xp system, so a few clans moving up quickly shouldn't bother them.
Second, a lot of complaints are that you couldn't do wars the same way you've been doing them. You wouldn't be able to spend 5 hours on the map if the prep is only an hour. Yeah. Shake things up a little.
I do agree that gemmers would have an advantage. Kind of the way the game is built - gemmers always have an advantage over non-gemmers.
I'm in an international clan. We'd deal with short wars by agreeing to use opt-out/opt-in for times when people can't play. More, but smaller wars. Go online, see who's online at an agreed time, and war with whoever is on, then set time for next war about 6 - 8 hours later.
You might need to add a break time between wars, or limit number of wars per day for any one clan. Or not. If a clan wants to pull an all-nighter and fight five wars back-to-back, gemming like crazy - well why not? Make it a two-day event, so people don't fry themselves, and let the free for all begin.

I kinda like the title: Flash Wars. )
We really don't need 24 hours to prepare and 24 more to attack. So clan wars mostly consist of waiting and it's boring. :-)
2 hours wars could actually work well. International clans will have a problem, but they don't need to get all their members to every war. Or may be inactive player may count as one star for his team.
Could actually be even more entertaining, if clan gets matched vs 6 other clans and war maps rotate every 2 hours, so you have 2x2 hours for every war... But it's a complication.
Clan wars are boring. :-) Especially preparation phase, and any great disturbance in the dull is welcomed. :-)
P.S. And cutting xp and bonus loot by half or two thirds for these super fast wars would probably work to prevent to fast clan progression. :-)
