How about this
After a player goes offline there will be short period of time such as 2-5 min before the players base is taken for The multi player matchup.
This will be useful for revenge attacks and there will be less chance of escaping.
I also don't revenge much, but this guy zapped my DE storage (which I hate, especially when I'm in Crystal 1), and he's upgrading 3 of his 4 air defenses at the same time. Perfect for an air attack to wipe the little zapper out for 3 stars.:o Revenge attacking him is a matter of a personal vendetta, which I believe is the whole point of "revenge".
And it happened again last night. He was online, raiding, and I went from seeing the owner online message whilst frantically tapping the revenge button to seeing that the village under attack message. Again, in less than half a second!
I even caught him this morning before I has to go to work, and yet again, he is attacked in less than half a second.
It's not a connection issue, as I revenged someone else a few minutes after the first guy got his shield. This second guy was online, and after a few minutes of "owner is online", I got through to attack him. Cleaned that guy out because I was still steaming about the first guy.
Read about the buffer above. He was not attacked in half a second. He went offline, then for 5-7 minutes he is shown to you as online, though he is off. During this time, he gets raided via normal matchmaking. As far as I understand it. :-)
I think you are confusing cheap shielding with TH sniping for free shield.
Not the same.
Cheap shielding was big in Champions among top clans. Since there are so little players at the top, you routinely see the same bases being offered time and time again. Players were then starting to get keen on the offerings and realized that they could leave the clan and as he exits the game, his clan mate or an alt/mini can search and find him, attack and give a free shield. Now that buddy can return to clan and sleep knowing he has a 12 hour shield. Now when the buddy or alt that gave the first a cheap shield needs his own shield, he would leave the clan and the first guy just has to click revenge and give him another cheap shield. This would go on over and over again throughout the top clans and many of them were staying free and safe from regular attackers.
This then created further problems finding match ups as people were intentionally letting clan mates find them and revenge them.
So now, revenges have a 7 minute (or so) buffer time while your base is placed in queue for regular attacks. It doesn't stop ALL cheap shielding but it reduced it significantly.
No Need of revenge button in game as no one able to use it successfully. every revenge button click pop up only on message ... Active shield...:confused:
