[Guide] Farming @TH9 1200-1800 trophy range - My style
You do know about the loot bonus/penalty, right?
First thing to remember on farming is: Trophies don't matter. Winning or losing a battle, how the game thinks, is irrelevant. What you should care is only the resources gained, nothing else.
Again, there is no right or wrong way to do farming. Some ways are just bit more efficient than others. Just make sure you are having fun doing it. If the farming starts feeling like work, swap to a different army or just take a break :) One important thing to remember is that without practice, no army will be victorious. Pick a style and stick with it for at least 20 attacks. Then you get a feel for the troops and know, will it suit your needs.
Using these tactics, I can make up to million gold a hour.. Or a day, depending on how active I am. Target finding luck varies so greatly, that it would be possible to make over 2 mills a hour, but really, I'm not that lucky.
There are three very different styles I use, depending on how much time I can/want to spend a day. In case someone wonders how well tested these armies are, all I can say is... Over 3000 attacks on both of the cheaper ones and some months with the blooning ;)
Basic assumptions to all this are: upgraded units, 5-6*, understanding how WBs work, ability to read bases and figure where the loot is (mines or containers) If there is some questions about these topics, I can explain more later...
Style #1 - fast & cheap.
The idea for this is, you attack as often as you can while spending the least amount of troops possible. Sidelooting, as in, mostly collecting mines and pumps with goblins is the easiest way on this style of attack to gain resources fast. Targets vary between 20k-500k gold. If you can take 20k with couple of goblins, go for it. It did cost you to find the place minimum of 750 gold, so go for it. Sounds weak and pathetic, maybe, but it all adds up. Trophies tend to drop rapidly so gotta remember to steamroll a base here and there so you don't drop too low. What's too low is up to you. I think below 1000 trophies is too low.
Army is as follows, in () the number I aim but not always got.
8 Wb
1/4 archers (60)
1/4 barbarians (60)
2/4 goblins (the rest)
2-10 minions (leftovers)
Most targets with that army are TH5 and up. Resources behind no more than two walls, defences not maxed out. I always aim for gold, elixir comes on it's own with the cheapo army. Sweep of barbs, sweep of archers, pair of wb and watch how it goes. More barbs, archers and wbs as necessary and once the breach is in, goblins in. End battle when resources are stolen, no matter is the battle otherwise won or lost.
Before heading to battle, make sure all the ques in barracs are full so the new army is ready ASAP.
Style #2 - Giant rush
With this army, one can breach much bigger targets. Trophies tend to accumulate on every battle so in order to keep in good trophy range, might need to do some sidelooting in between. Again gold is the aim, but some elixir is also good to be available, just in case. The same army works just fine on pure trophyhunting as you can swap the goblins to some more offensive units.
8 WB
8-16 giants, depending on how heavy I want to go
70 archers
Goblins
Healer, occasionally along but will do just fine without.
20 or more barbs, depending how giant heavy the army is.
With a healer, targetetting bases with exposed AD is a good idea but healer can be usefull, even if she gets shot down after few heal splashes. Don't sweat about it too much, it's just one unit. Giants and/or barbs tank the front, followed by archers and wb pairs. Goblins when it's clear. With that army composition, you can attack most bases just fine. Just need to practice, like with any army. Most commonly the whole base gets leveled with this type of attack but don't worry if you lose as long as you get the loot home. Roles of the units are: Giants tank and deal some damage to defences, archers do the damage to defences and goblins steal the loot. Even when ou got the firepower to take out big targets, never skip an easy prey.
Style #3 - Unleash hell
Slow to build, expensive and effective. Those words describe the last type of army well. At this point elixir isn't anymore an issue and targets are th8-10, often well upgraded. As it takes more than a hour to build this, don't expect to attack too often with this type of army.
Dragon or three
Balloons, 25 or more
Archers or wizards 40-60
Minions 5-10
Only common nominator on the targets with this army is AD, lack of it to be exact. Easy picking AD on the side with archers is minium. If there is more than one AD in the middle, might be a good idea to skip the base as those things will pop the bloons like crazy. Level 1-2 AD is still manageable, but 3+ picks those puppies too fast down. Dragon(s) is there to tank, if you can't pick the AD easily. Minions do the cleanup after all the defences are down. How to use this army would require an essay, so I won't bother explaining it too much. Some prefer to use only dragons, but I find balloons and dragons make much better group as balloons target defences.

That's enough for starting point... Questions and comments welcome :)
