I have bought many gems and I think it would be good to have rewards for buying X amount of gems. For example I have bought a total of 5000 gems, I get a reward that allows me to completely fill up any 1 storage to its full capacity, and then your gem count goes back down.
The reward you get is that you get gems. The end. You don't "deserve" anything for buying something besides the intended product. That's like saying "Oh I bought 5 liters of milk, I deserve an extra one!"

Buy gems itself is an advantage and allows you to use it they way you wish. Why should it give an additional reward and full storage?
