Why do you need to get to Champs so bad? You are going to have a rough time getting the loot you need to build your base up properly.
Every time you log off, you will get flattened.
Now with that out of the way,
use a farming base design with the TH outside the walls, fully exposed. No defenses or traps around it. None.
There is no point in using a trophy base. You will only lose more loot and trophies. Give them your TH and pray they only take that.
When you log on to play, play for several hours at a time. Stay logged on the whole time. Gain as many trophies as possible during that time.
As soon as you log off, somebody will attack you and you will lose trophies.
Search for farming bases with exposed THs like yours. This will take a long time because they are few and far between once you hit high crystal.
If you find the rare weak TH8, attack it and try to get at least 2 stars. Mostly you will find built TH9s and 10s. Go for 50% on them if they look weak, but don't be wasteful with your attacks.
1 or 2 lost attacks at that level can erase a day's worth of gains.
Weaker people than you have made it into Champs. It's just going to take a lot of time.
Hi,
I found that the easiest way to get to champs was to use either barch or bam and only attack when I was 100% sure I would get one star. This could either be by attacking exposed TH's or taking down 50% of outside buildings.
You will have to play in sessions to get anywhere. Logging out between each attack will make you lose more cups than you gain.

2000 gem reward for reaching champs seems like a good way a rushed player can fix a part of his undeveloped game quicker.
The reason I want champs is for the gems (to upgrade base) and to get builders. Also the bonus is nice there so....
Lot of ppl don't know what champs is like and comment. No, if you are not loaded no one will waste troops to 2-3 stars your base, sniping your TH for bonus loot is all we do in champs.
My clanmate barch to champ as rushed TH9, so can you.
My rushed TH10 has very low level defense and i made it to champs and no one 3 starred my base.

2000 gems arent really going to last long. Even with boosting. They run out pretty quick. A terrible time pushing for like, 1-2 months of boosting at most?
No. Listen to what others are saying. Take time to upgrade things. Farm de for ur heroes.
I think they meant 2000 gems for a builder, so he can upgrade his army faster.
Back on point, as a TH7 I sniped my way to master with level 1 dragons and minions. It is doable, but takes a ton of work. If you are looking for a guidance, this thread is an excellent guide: http://forum.supercell.net/showthrea...ping-(TH5-TH6)
However, if you are looking for a way to raid, go up to Master and snipe. There are plenty of TH snipes in Masters (much more as compared to Champions) and the loot bonus large enough to make th sniping worth it.
Its all there above.
Patience, many searches, expect losses because they will happen and you loose lots of trophies when they do.
There is a nack to barcher at that high level and it takes time to learn what you can and cannot take on.
From personal experience getting to master I is OK... its that last level that things get tough.
Alternatively there is the dragon way mentioned but an expensive way to do it and I doubt you can afford it. Lots of Elix is just what TH10 are after.
I am a maxed th9 with a couple of lava walls and all legos. I only needed to spend 80 gems on my journey to there, but it was still long. You should keep your TH outside because you usually just get sniped. I only got 3*ed one time when I went to champs. I barched from Gold - Crystal 2. Used hogs Crystal 1 - Master 2. Then I GoWiPed the rest of the way. It took me 2 weeks, but its worth it.
