Being able to use heros in war attacks
Before you say "This post is too long, I am not going to waste my time reading it" just give me a few minutes of you time, please. You won't be disappointed with what you are reading. A few great points are brought up and the more publicity this gets the more it can affect how Clash of Clans will be played in the future!
OK, so I bet we have all said the same thing when a war goes wrong "If I had my King [or Queen] my attack would've been much better." Well SUPERCELL, this is probably the truth for most attacks. I am going to give a few suggestions as to why this adjustment makes sense. Before I do so, I just want to say that I have heard a few different youtubers explain or try to explain why this is difficult to do because the game takes a "screenshot" of each base to use to determine the weight of each player in the war (or at least that's how I understand what they are trying to explain). I understand this but this brings me to my first point of weighting each player. So it is well known that hero level plays a major role in determining the weight of each player (as they should), but what isn't a factor is whether or not the hero is upgrading or not. Let's just say we have two identical players with exactly same things upgraded so far and same hero levels, but the only difference is that one player is upgrading a hero and the other is not. Naturally, these two players will have the same weight when searching for a war and if the rest of their clan are about the same the two clans will get matched. The thing is the player with the upgrading hero will only be able to have his heroes defend while the other player that isn't upgrading heroes will be able to use the heroes in defense and in an attack. If we go back a little bit didn't we say that these two players have the same weight in the war? Well, isn't it also clear that the person who isn't upgrading the heroes has an advantage? This should NOT be the case if it was already determined that they have the same weight for war:confused::confused::confused:.
My second point with this topic is just in general with war and not comparing two equal players. How does it make sense to be able to have heroes defend in war but you are restricted from using them in an attack??? Isn't the point of the war to be able to use EVERYTHING that you have upgraded (defenses and troops) to the best of your abilities and see which clan is better? This can't be done when a player isn't able to use his/her heroes in an attack.
Thirdly, let's say I have 2 archer towers, a canon, an air defense, my Archer Queen all upgrading on my village and my balloons upgrading in my lab. Aren't the archer towers, canon, and Archer Queen able to defend my village for war? Also, aren't I able to use my balloons in my war attacks if I wanted to? So, why is my Archer Queen only able to defend in war when it is considered both a defense and an attacking troop? I mean if she can't be used in an attack why can she defend, why can my balloons be used in an attack, and why doesn't my defending village have 4 open 3x3 spaces in it for the 2 archer towers, canon, and air defense or just have them disabled on the base? This doesn't make any sense!!!!
Now, I can't complain without offering my suggestion on how to change it can I? No.
What I would do to change it is kinda simple. Remember earlier how I said that youtubers described it as if the game was taking a "screenshot"? Why can't the game just take a screenshot to determine what the level of each defense that will be used in war, and then once the player hits the "ATTACK" button and it takes you to the confirmation screen before the attack, the troops and heroes level information is transferred from the "profile" page to the confirmation page. As long as the troop/hero isn't grayed-out on the "profile" page, then it can be used in the war attack (that's a simple string of pixel color comparisons or something similar that says if the color is not gray then troop/hero can be used in war attack).
If any of this is difficult to understand or if you have any suggestions on another reason why we should be able to use heroes in war attacks or a suggestion on how you would change it please post in the comments. The more suggestions and more clarification that is done the better the chances are that this could be changed!
We all love Clash of Clans and wouldn't be on here if we didn't.
Clash on, Chief!
