War preperation day starts from when war search started

In our clan, war start end times are important. We start the war in the evenings, about 20h00, and we like to get our first attacks in on the first evening of battle day. 20h00 - 20h30 is the best time, because people work till 18h00, sleep at 21h30 etc.

We start the next war search immediately after the previous war, but wars keep getting later and later. This means some people are already sleeping when battle day starts, then they go to work, and only really get to plan the attack the next evening. This means we waste most of battle day.

I propose that war preparation day start from the time that the war search starts, in an effort to prevent wars starting later and later in the day.

However, it is possible that the two clans started their searches at different times. One clan may have been waiting for the search longer than the other. Therefore we must take the time half way between when each clan started their search, in order to be fair. In practice, this halfway point should be very near the time each clan actually started their search.

It is not unimaginable that a clan may have been waiting a ridiculously long time for the search, like 6 hours. This would be a disadvantage to their opponent if the opponent had just recently clicked search, maybe expecting another ~24 hours before battle day for upgrades to complete etc. Now, prep day would only be 21 hours, and their upgrades would not be ready for battle day. For this reason I recommend that a minimum preparation day time of 23 hours exist.

eg. If CLAN A pressed search at 19h00 and CLAN B pressed search at 23h00, and they are matched, the halfway point would be 21h00. However, that would mean that battle day would start only 22 hours after CLAN B pressed search, which is below the minimum of 23 hours. So, the start time of preparation day is brought forward to 22h00, which means that battle day would start 23 hours after CLAN B pressed search.

So, in conclusion:

1. war preparation day to start from the halfway point between the times each clan pressed search.
2. if that halfway point is more than 1 hour before the time at which the second clan (pressed search last) pressed search, then the starting time is made 1 hour before the second clan pressed search.

your idea sounds good but the solution however would still not prevent the times getting later and later. the time would still accumulate so I am not sure how SC would implement this effectively. :confused: and secondly, how would this effect the second clan that has pressed search at a time that suits them. would this mean they loose an hour prep time? meaning the battle day would begin 1 hour before they pressed search. If so, this would throw their schedule out, and we are back at square one. Unfortunately, imo along with these issues and the effects of time zone differences, i believe this would not work to benefit both sides.

Wouldn't it just be easier to change preparation time to 23 hours? A war campaign would take 47 hours then, making it possible to start every war at the same moment every second day...

nobody is going to care if they get one less hour prep day, who are the clans that use every minute of prep day? it just doesn't happen, 12 hours is the most we have ever spent on prep day

I don't agree entirely. Sure, prep day doesn't have to be 24 (or 23 hours). But it is part of our strategy to fill up warbases (troops in cc) during the last 10 to 15 minutes. Scouting our warbases prior to that point, will only show empty cc's, making some enemies believe we're an easier target...

OK, so maybe that proposal is a bit too complicated. How about this:

Preparation day starts from the time the second team clicks search.

Then, if clan A licks search at 19h47 and clan B clicks search at 19h55, and the search only matches them at 20h10, preparation day ends the next day at 19h55.

No disadvantage to either clan. Both clans are guaranteed at least 24 hours prep time from when they click search, and period of time that the servers take finding the match does not cause wars to start later and later in the day.

If you are the second clan of the two matched clans to have clicked search then, for you, wars will not get later. This is at least somewhat better.

In a post I made about matchmaking fixes, I was told to re-queue for war so the system doesn't expand parameters and get you a really impossible matchup. I've been re-queuing every 30 min now for the past 3.5 hrs which ruins our start time. So I'm in favor of a 23 or shorter prep time lol.
