New feature: Attack a base after the war ends!
Hello everyone! Welcome to my newest thread containing my ideas for re-attacking a base after a Clan War ends. Throughout this thread, I'll go into tons of detail to make sure you understand how this will affect the game. In this thread, I will go through two possible solutions, to hopefully open up lively discussion about what would work best.
Just like my first thread (The Volcano Mage) this one is detailed. As I stated above, this is so you can fully understand both ideas and know immediately which one would work better. Also, I am aware this idea has been suggested a few times. However, it's not one of the more common ideas suggested, and I intend to put much more detail into this one.
So, with that introduction out of the way, let's get to the idea.
The Problem
Has an attack during Clan Wars ever gone horribly wrong? Was there one thing you could have done differently to turn a 2-star attack into a 3-star attack? Did you forget to lure the Clan Castle? Did you accidentally drop a heal spell on the grass?
The problem is, sometimes you mess up in Clan Wars. So, you would want to try that attack again to experiment and find the best way to direct the strategy. Or, maybe it was a different base design than you're used to. You tried a GoWiPe on it, but would a Mass Hog attack have gone better?
This thread intends to offer up two solutions to solving all of these problems.
The Backstory
It's all going well. You deploy 30 level 5 Hog Riders on a Town Hall 9 base, and bring some Wizards and Archers behind. But lo and behold, you forgot to do two things: Check for double giant bombs, and lure the Clan Castle.
You don't remember any of this until all of your Hog Riders bunch up next to a Wizard Tower, and suddenly troops begin to come out of the Clan Castle and the dreaded double Giant Bombs wipe out half of your Hog Riders. Then, as if it couldn't get any worse, Wizards come out of the Clan Castle and kill the rest of your Hogs - you're whole attacking force, gone. Slowly, the remaining Clan Castle troops get rid of your Wizards and Archers, until they're all gone. Luckily, your heroes came to the rescue and you left with a lucky one star.
Your clan loses by 1 star.
If you had lured the Clan Castle and tested for double Giant Bombs, you would have been fine. Gotten 3 stars. Won the war. But you didn't.
(Long story, I know.)
You can only use both of these solutions after the war ends, to prevent anything being exploited. You can only re-attack once per base you attacked during the war.
Solution 1: Attacking the same base with the same army
Now, the war has ended. You lost by 1 star. But, now that the war is over, you can try that same attack again! It won't cost anything. You won't have to re-train the same troops or request more troops in your Clan Castle or train more spells. But, you won't gain anymore war loot bonus.
All you have to do is go to the same base you attacked during war. Note that you will not be allowed to attack a different base then one of the two you attacked during the war, and you are always given the exact same army composition to use.
Now, you can try that attack again. Maybe lure the Clan Castle and test for Giant Bombs. Basically, this solution offers you the ability to conduct the same attack and do it differently. This will give you knowledge for later wars, and, if you come across the same base, you will know the best way to go about your attack.
Solution 2: Attacking the same base with an army of your choice
Now, the war has ended. You lost by 1 star. But, now that the war is over, you can attack that same base again! You won't have to use the same raid or spells or Clan Castle troops - the only thing that will be the same is the base in the Clan Castle troops defending that base. The drawback to this solution is that you will have to re-train your army and request for Clan Castle troops. However, this will open up for a bigger variety of attacks for later. You might find one that works better than before, and can use it against later bases.
All you have to do, again, is go to the same base you attacked during war. Note that you will not be allowed to attack a different base then one of the two you attacked during the war, and you will be given the checklist screen you are given at the beginning of a normal Clan War attack, to make sure you didn't forget anything.
Now, instead of Mass Hogs, maybe you should try GoWiWi! It might work better, it might work worse. Who knows, but you'll have to try to find out.
Thank you for reading. Tell me in the comments which solution you like better; or if there are some things I could fix. I would love to hear you guys' opinion on the matter, since you are playing this game too.
Thanks and happy clashing!
Anthony
P.S.
Be sure to check out my troop, the Volcano Mage! I would love to hear your feedback on that as well. :)
