New Troop: "Wrecking Crew"
My new troop idea is basically a stronger and very different version of a wall breaker.
My troop idea, the "Wrecking Crew," would look like a group of barbarians or other unique looking units, carrying a large battering ram.
The crew will charge only on one direct path and they will not go off path. They will slowly but powerfully ram any walls they encounter on the path.
The AI of the pathing of this unit could work by either automatically pathing toward the direct center of the base (makes ppl rethink base layouts to consider off center town halls), or it could work by click and dragging a line determining the path. Both of these options obviously entail completely different strategies, but here is my thoughts on what it will change.
This unit could introduce a very new play style and raid technique to BOTH air and ground raids. Obviously it would make a great addition to a golem raid because it would give greater control of your golem pathing as well as serving the role of being its own tank for other units. It could be used for anticipating and triggering traps better. The collective arsenal of traps are IMO the best defense in this game at the moment and even if you can anticipate their placement, it is sometimes impossible to purposely trigger them. The wrecking crew could give you the opportunity to test your luck and aim for predictable traps to make way for your wizards. In air raids, one could use it at the end of a raid to carve a path for your heroes if the town hall doesn't go down mid raid. Hybrid raids would also be very very opportunistic with this unit.
