Just starting to practice with GoHo
3 Golems
20 hogs
Wb and wiz
2 heal 1 rage 1 jump
I need more practice but I can see the potential.
Is there a certain base style that's better attacked with
witches in place of some hogs?

When you lure CC and want to take the units out before you start the initial raid you want to bring the 212(2witches1wizard2barbs) comp with witches obviously.
I almost always use 2 witches with a standard GoHo. I have used 3 golems with 3 witches before with hogs. I usually use these small GoWiWi's on bases that resemble southern teasers or have one side with a huge open area where golems can roam and tank a majority of base.
If you have only just started practicing GoHo attacks, 3 golems doesn't make much sense for a novice attacker.
You bring witches (a kill squad/212) when you're dealing with the lured CC in the general case.
I suggest that you modify your approach. It's best to modify your army depending on the base that you're attacking... you should be able to tell immediately if you need a jump spell or not.
Also, when gohoing, I almost never use more than one Golem. But that is beside the point.
As others have stated, typical use of witches is to help take out a lured cc. If you protect them they can help with the main attack and cleanup.
I usually try to lure the cc, so I usually bring
witches with me in a war attack. If you're not luring, witches aren't as helpful.
If you're not luring, suggest that you bring lightning for the cc, or rage wizards if you know the cc contains a Dragon.
Have you even followed what has been happening in top war clans?
The most common GoHo actually used is :
a cc lure, 2 witches to deal with it
2 golems, a jump and the heroes to pop a set of double gbombs and get the queen
rest hogs, surgical deployment, 3 heals
Sometimes, if they can't lure they either use 2 golems 2 witches and a rage or 3 golems and a lightening
Keep in mind that all these strategies use a surgical deployment that can be pretty tricky to reproduce
Ive been noticing less pulls actually, I see more people bringing a lightning now. It really depends on the base and what the other CCs have been showing (I know you shouldn't have the same thing in every CC but a lot of people do)
Ive ver been playing around with stoned hogs recently....mixed results but like I mentioned, I'm not as good of a hogger as I am looner or Valker
Thanks all.
I'm still in practice mode.
I haven't used this in war yet
I'll drop a golem and bring a couple witches
Thanks
The original poster isn't in a top war clan and it's unlikely he's facing those types of bases. It's a helpful to learn how to evaluate bases... that should be the focus.
Queen exposed or lightly covered? Might not even need a golem. consider bringing a fourth heal and some wallbreakers instead of a (useless) jump.
It's better to tailor the army to the base rather than automatically assume that certain units are always needed.
