Sitting at 2800 cups, what strategy should I use? Been Quatro-looning, haven't seen many snipes.
Sitting at 2800 cups, what strategy should I use? Been Quatro-looning, haven't seen many snipes.
Options:
- Use a big army, trade 3 stars for 1 stars, gain 2 every attack. (or 2 for 1)
- Snipe/50% with barch/bam. Boost if your army doesn't rebuild fast enough. Boost SF, being willing to use rage/heal on each attack if needed makes your possible snipe targets increase a alot. You can also bring a golem or giants to drop as needed for distraction. With a boosted SF you can pretty much use 1 spell every attack.
- Loonion, boosting helps, but can stay online or log off and trade 2 stars for 1.
As lnog as you choose an option that can be used, if you're not making progress, it likely means you need to be better with the strategy. Don't sweat the losses, learn from them. Figure out why you shouldn't have targetted that base or how you should have deployed differently, etc.
Also, make sure you try some iffy bases every so often. This is probably the best way to lose if you're getting close to being >3200 again. Widen your base selection and try something. Win you learn, lose you learn (and drop trophies). It's the only way you're going to truly learn your limit. You need to have a wide enough repertoire of bases you will attack that you're not searching forever for "the perfect snipe".
Your trophy level will eventually reach your natural level given your attack and skill with it. The important thing to work on is not your trophy level, but your skill as that will give you a higher eventual trophy amount (or easier maintenance ofr whatever level you want)
Thank you for the kind words.
I was more looking for a feel than a number or even properly quantified. I'd trust your judgement if you were willing to hazard a guess.
I didn't realize you could survive to (and past) the inactive message and still not be attacked. What's your best estimate for how long after the inactive message you have until you end up being attacked?
Hi All,
Everybody fails. I just did a attack on a TH9 premature and ended with a 39 cup lose.
I have to suck it up and fix it, luckily I am in champs and got 56 cups more protection.
Everybody fails sometimes.

Not to step on anybodies toes :)
Obviously when you have a champ badge go experiment.
Until you get champ try to not fail. Go for alot of nexting and the sure thing. Use fast to train armies. If you boost then ballonion veriations are very good. If you do not boost go with barch or bam.
Every fail cost alot in terms of time.

I wanted to clarify. With a big army (or the loonion and logoff option), you logoff in between attacks and queue your next army. Your time investment is minimal when measured in time played. As long as you are trophy positive, you will progress.
Assumptions:
- Attack about every 2 hours over the course of 16 hours (9 attacks/day)
- Net gain of 2 stars at about 10 trophies per star.
This yields 180 trophies/day for the low cost of nexting 9 times and attacking with a prebuilt army. Even at a net gain of 1 star per attack, it's still almost 100 trophies/day.
Compare this to 21 barch/bam 1 star wins over 3 hours for a net 20 stars (at 9 stars each, you can't be quite as picky about hitting high trophy bases).
The big army is making just as much progress, albeit in a different fashion. If you can't play in sessions, opt for an army that earns more trophies than you lose on defense. If you log in fewer times, it will simply slow your progress (in terms of days, same progress in terms of attacks), but as long as you do it every time your shield drops, you'll still move up.
If you can play in sessions you have a choice. Sessions of a fast army will get you to a higher trophy count sooner in terms of days if the sessions are long enough, but the call as to if it's less "effort" is personal.
Edit to add: This is one of the reasons for the 3 attack guideline on breaking shield. If you won't be able to attack 3 times for 1 star and earn 3 stars when you break your shield, you probably should queue an army that can attack once for 3 stars instead as it will net more stars/trophies. (The other reason is to be sufficiently resource positive for your effort)
I agree that fails cost a lot of time to recover, often 8-10 wins. I was likely overstating the case for experimentation. Unless the player has the Champions badge or is in a league where wins are also easy for them, losing has a large cost.
I do think it's a critical part of the process of getting better and farming league bonus. I know I wasn't tackling enough bases the last time I was in M2 as a TH9. I lost a few when I started experimenting, but I also won enough to hold steady. I lament all the wasted time/loot due to not trying enough bases. I'll be back up there experimenting again soon.
^^ True, when going to achieve next league, be more patient and next more to choose easier base. Don't risk it, I have learn my lesson getting to Master. Today I was at 3180+, then 3190, 3195, 3199 ... each of these steps I next 100+ just to be safe. Finally cross 3205 and higher up. ;)
I'm using 240 barch split evenly to get 50% 1 star
10 gem boost AQ40 - this helps me a lot when reaching 40%+ Maxed AQ really make difference in getting few more %
spells 5x lightning - all to get 50% as last resort, didn't boost or use much also.
CC - not used at all
