Donation system upgrade (read before say you saw it before)

I know there`s several ideas on this theme and I`ve been reading them.
I found several issues pointed by the people that commented, what leaded almost all of those threads to become forgotten posts.


Now, the idea:
1. When you click on the Clan castle, instead of the regular options, the option OFFER TROOPS would be there as well. So it will be: Info - Upgrade - Request troops - Offer troops - Clan - Collect


2. Requesting system still intact. And Offering troops will be timed as the request troops (if you request troops, you will have to wait for the time out acording to the clan perk you are in), being able to rush (request now) using gems. Just like requesting, but offering instead. That means, the time out is THE SAME for request troops and offer troops. So the time out is to use the clan castle, let`s put it that way.


3. The limit of housing space to be offered can be the same of the requesting limit, just to match the village level. And amount of troops donated should mach the clan limits, according to clan perks (5 troops until perks 4, 6 until perks 8, etc...). - added by "itmustbeaustin"

4. When you select the troops you want to donate, None of them leave your army camps until picked up by some one. You can let the replacement troops on wait at the barracks, or not use this feature, if this bothers you. Or, you can suggest something. I know this is a delicate point, by the comments I`ve read in other posts.

5. When you finish selecting the troops you want to donate, give it a title, hit "Offer" and it will appear on the clan chat exactly like the donation request, but as an offer.


6. Once someone picked your troops, your donations count increase, your donation refund goes in and your troops leave your army camps to the bottom corner of the village.

7. If you have troops offered that still on your army camp and you decide to raid, those troops will be unavailable for use on the attack. Two things can occur in case of no one pick your troops: The offer can fade away on the clan chat, what will turn your offered troops available for use again or a "cancel offer" button will be on the clan castle, if you really need the troops and don`t want to offer anymore. If you hit that button, the offering desappears or turn gray, I don`t know. - Added by myself. Uthrac Got me thinking about this issue and I thank him/her.

8. Finally, you will be able to offer/request again when the time goes by or when you use gems to rush the time.

Since the time out for donation is the same for offering, lots of people will not offer that much, to be able to ask a lot. That way, the problem of absurdly increasing the donation numbers reduces to almost zero.

Of course this will increase a bit, perhaps, the donation numbers. But since it has a time blocking and just as the requesting system, any random new player with bad intentions can hop in and use it, I think not every one will use this system. Perhaps players with the "NEW" status can`t pick troops? Idea from Goobers.

I know someone will say: "This is ridiculous! people will take the troops when they are not supposed to!"
Answer: - The same happens when you request a dragon, and someone place 5 archers there. And we deal with the problem finding whoever is not respecting the requests and talking or kicking out. This will just add a way to donate. So every one has the option of not using (just like I don`t use balloons). Remember that some clans are organized and will take big advantage on this kind of system. Who has a clan where members are not worth trust, Than solve the issues with the clan members. Remember that the game cannot force your guys to be the way you want. your internal clan rules should.

I know someone will say: "This will make donations numbers go insane!"
Answer: - We can make the Troops offer wait time double of the troops request time. Remember that some clans are international and time zones are not helpful on the 24 hours war.

I know someone will say: "Clan hoppers will take advantage on this."
Answer: - Just like as troops request, it is opened. If your clan is opened to anyone, be careful. Or simply don`t use. Remember. Some people never use Goblins or Balloons. But they still there for those who like them.

Now, Sorry for the lack of illustrations, but I am not that good on making them. I hope the detailed text is enough to tell what I think. If you are one of those people that know how to make good illustrations, feel free to make them, and I`ll incorporate on the original post with the proper credit.

And of course, Add ideas or make suggestions! I am not a SUPERCELL developer telling what I am doing. I`m just a player putting several posts together, to make our game more fun and practical.

Blue parts were written after the original posts. Those are suggestions made by the readers, that make sense to me.

I like this idea at the moment, however I need to reflect on it deeper to decide for sure.

That was forgotten by me and That surely must be inserted in the whole thing!

You got me. I have actually no answer to that. Troops inside clan castle and donation camps, won`t work, because if no one pick your troops and your donation offer vanishes onto 100+ chat lines, what happens to the troops? vanish as well? I really need suggestions on that matter. Thanks for reading.

Players can deny bad troops and
people don't just give away barbs to get xp.

You got me. I have actually no answer to that. Troops inside clan castle and donation camps, won`t work, because if no one pick your troops and your donation offer vanishes onto 100+ chat lines, what happens to the troops? vanish as well? I really need suggestions on that matter. Thanks for reading. You could make it make it that instead of the troops sitting in the camp they sit in a separate slot in your CC, that way if you want to change your offering, you can dismiss them. This also takes care of the other issues I brought up.

If you have maxed out th10, join with you low level account, the high level account offers golems, the low level accepts them and wrecks bases....

You might not be understanding of the concept in relation to the way the system is now, if you offer a golem, it is still 30 housing spaces, you would have to be TH9 or TH10 with a high enough level CC to hold 30 housing spaces to be able to except the golem.

Haha Beezy, you made me laugh, that's the second time you've given me the #REKT for one of my posts...

Although that answer was obvious to us, it was just a small misunderstanding on his part, not a big deal. But it is nice to hear from people who think this system could be exploitable, because we want to work on the exploitable issues.

Its not a bad idea. In my clan max loons could be tough to come by at war (we just hit level 5, so its much easier now).

It would be nice if somebody offered them, before they logged off. In return, I could cook up a few lvl 4 hogs, and offer them before I sign off, and somebody could claim them overnight.

I get the idea of putting up some troops from your army camps that others can request-n-grab.

What is the experience like from the requestor's standpoint? i.e. Do I hit Request, then I can start filling that request from others offerings?

And as someone else pointed out, is this an added layer of coding that would be difficult if I have a dragon "offered" but then I go raiding? What is the timing of when the dragon disappears from my army camp and appears in the ally's clan castle?

I'm skeptical that the amount of coding needed to implement a feature like this would be worth the payoff.

Not going to quote posts but I have read everything in here, and I do like the concept, especially for supplying "reserve troops" for warrers on different continents who want to attack when it's 3am my time and I'm too drunk to operate my phone.

I think if you did this, you'd remove all issues people would have for it.

1) You mentioned that the chat message falling off the page would then render it useless.

Solution: Make it a widget on the screen then, and instead of each person's personal "offer bank," you just have one clan castle troop bank that members can contribute to. Leaders and coleaders are able to delete troops from it as they see fit. Let the capacity on it be a factor of the number of members in the clan, maybe making every 10 members in the clan the threshold for increasing it. Furthermore, allow a percentage increase on the cap based on hitting certain clan levels, similar to how the clan castle war loot storage works now.

2) Yes, make the timer for donating to the reserve much longer than current request times, maybe even only once every two hours per person. The point of this is not to completely replace active donating, but to alleviate time zone differences--especially for war--correct? You stockpile the troops that will commonly be used in there, and make it clear to your members that it's encouraged mainly for certain purposes (war if no one is on to supply you, trophy pushing, farming if it's the weekend and you know clan activity will be low, etc). Getting players to abide by this comes down to good/bad clan management, and any "abuse" of it should just be handled internally, and not be a problem SC should have to further micromanage.

3) Don't allow troops donated to this reserve to count towards "Troops Donated." In addition, no XP given to those who donate through the reserve, or refund applied to the donating players when someone takes them. This not only makes it easier on SC when trying to allocate which troops came from who, but encourages those who want to gain levels and get compensated for donating to do it actively, and not just "set it and forget it" in the reserve. Again, it's my understanding that the OP wants this to be a convenient way to help international clans, and not be a replacement of the current system.

EDIT/Addendum: I could see problems arising when you're trying to recruit new members with them coming in, taking from the reserve and leaving, so set it so that only elders and above can take from it. Just set all your "long-term" members to elder, and give new recruits a few days/wars before they get that privilege to take from the bank. There, problem solved--plus you've actually given a valid reason for the elder position now, haha.

Sorry this is so long-winded, but yes I think this concept is a great idea, although making a centralized reserve might be more effective, which is what I laid out above.

When someone offers troops, they will appear as an offer on the clan chat. So you just click on "Receive" and choose what you want. Within your castle limits, of course.

And the amount of coding is being solved here. We are thinking nothing but the logics of the thing. The programmer will just grab the idea and translate to Java or whatever language they use.

Well, I did read on other posts a proposal like that. But I wanted to keep simple, so it is doable.
And about the capacity, keeping the same as the requesting seems fair to me. I hope to others as well...
Creating a troop bank is a proposal different to this one. Perhaps, we will end there, if not all problems are solved.

You still thinking about the troops bank. Good point on the longer request time... But I think it is gotta be "gemable"; 2h is lots of gems and no one will use. 30 mins is doable and expensive. perhaps that`s the path.

I think is fair to be counted. You used your resources and your time to make those troops. Remember that the donation number (and all other actions related to donations)only raises when someone takes the troops. And I am thinking about individual offering, instead of the troop bank.

I love this concept. Actually, is my favorite part on your post. But instead of elders, what about "NO members marked as NEW can accept offers"? That would solve the abuse issue.

and about the troop bank, I think is another idea. As I said, lots of issues found by readers on other posts..
Example: Until the elders remove the garbage, the reserve will be full. That`s just one of the many pointings I saw.

Perhaps, the troops could simply vanish from the clan castle when the chat swallows the troop offer,

Or, we simply let them on the army camps. When the offer goes away, the troops still intact.

What about that?

If you do get xp and it counts as donated, (which it should) I think when you go to pick up the troops so to speak, it shows you different players and their troops available, i.e. PlayerX has 1 Lvl 5 Loons and 1 Lvl 3 Dragon, PlayerY has 30 Lvl 6 archers and then you could select 4 archers and 1 dragon .
Also I think you should only be able to offer up your CC*2 (i.e. your CC is 30 you could give 3 dragons total at a time) This is to prevent players from donating 1 dragon 20 times a day and being able to offer 20 dragons at one time. Also have the requests be double your normal request.

I love the fact that someone has elaborated my idea into a well-rounded concept. I'm all up for this!! Where is the "thumbs-up" button? lol

One thing this harms, and I have not read the entire thread and for that I apologise, is weaker members donating.

We have three donation rules; defence which receives specified troop types; war which is precisely what you request and then looting which is not allowed to be specific and therefore any village can donate to.

The offer system means poor low level villages simply won't be able to donate as much.

Instead to solve the single barbs to a war request problem, or whatever your clan specific donation rules being ignored problem may be, the game simply needs to record who donated to you for longer.

The 24 hour war window and timezone issue is not solved by this method and is IMO one of the things an international clan must deal with. Mine does.

There could be a page like where the leader opts in/out people for the leader to decide who can take troops from it.
i like the idea.

This could really help especially to inactive clans!It happened to me so many times when I ask people if they want donations but by the time someone answeres I need to log off...

I think you should have the option of choosing what troops can be taken and what quantity. But other than that loved the idea!

If you don`t need, simply don`t use. Remember that you are not the only player on the game. Others might need. Just like all the updates, ignore them, if you don`t need.

And I`m on a perfect clan. But it is international. Just as thousands of other clans. So this issue IS important to lots of people.

I don`t think I got it: You want the history of offerings?
Because The offering system is just like the donation one. You offer anything you like. People will see what you are offering and grab some, all or none of the troops offered.

And about the dragon guy, he can gem as many dragons as he wants to. he can donate on the regular basis, or he can offer them as many times as he wants to. What`s the issue? if people like dragons and he enjoy making them instead of rading, is a good thing for the clan, right? or not?

The low levels will be able to offer troops according to their castle size. And if you look closely, this is a lot! The can donate 5, 6 troops depending of clan perks. Now they can offer 5, 6 troops, AND donate the regular way. This is an addition, The donation system will keep as it is.

I think that they will have to offer according to your specific clan rules. Or create new rules for offering. Like No one accept troops less than level x... Your clan, your rules. This is even easier, because you can see what is being offered and choose to grab or not.

You got me thinking about this for a long while... But the solution came to me today... The original post was edited with the new idea, as follows:

If you have troops offered that still on your barraks and you decide to raid, those offered troops will be unavailable for use on the attack. A "cancel offer" button can be added, if you really need the troops and don`t want to offer anymore. - Added by myself. I just got this idea.

Just figured something else out, guys. If the time out for offering troops be the same one for ask troops, there will not be a big increase on troops donations. Because a big part of players will only use that time to request troops.

That way, Friend in need is still dificoult and the gem usage can be slightly increased by devoted doners.
