Make War Bases Static on Prep Day
Request: Do not allow war bases to be edited during prep day.
Details: Upgrades that complete on prep day would continue to affect your war base, but you could not place new buildings and walls or edit the placement of buildings and walls.
Reasoning
Editing your war base on prep day used to be the only time you could edit your war base. This has changed allowing this mechanic to be revisited. There are two main reasons why no allowing players to edit their war bases on prep day will improve the game, the first being the most important reason.
1) The potential for someone to change their war base at the end of prep day (just before war day starts) makes it difficult to discuss who will attack which base, what troops to use and even the details about how to go about attacking that particular base. Knowing that the layout of a base will not change as you look at it on prep day allows clans to get serious about preparing for war. They can better plan who will attack which base and help each other plan an attack on that base. They can also train their troops early so that they will be ready right when war day starts. People do these things now because war bases don't often change, but some (like myself) don't start training troops until war starts because the base might change. Being assured that a base won't change will make prep day a true preparation day allowing more than just filling war castles.
2) The matching system matches two clans based on the buildings, walls, troops levels and hero levels at the time of the war search. This change would prevent new buildings from being placed on prep day that would possibly affect the attack on that base (for example, a new x-bow or two being added on prep day). The matching system isn't perfect so these new buildings aren't that big of a deal, but I still believe this would be a slight improvement to the matching system mechanic, keeping the clans more true to the original match.
Drawbacks
1) Any change will cause some grumbling until they get used to the new way. Some may get caught by surprise by this change and have their base configured the wrong way as war starts and will be stuck, but that will only happen to them once.
2) The only way for people to get advice and help laying out their war base will be to copy it to their regular base so others can see it with them.
Summary
I believe this will allow clans that want to be more organized to go the extra mile and they will be rewarded by winning more wars. Clan wars should be designed so that disorganized clans can jump in and enjoy it, but should allow a clan that wants to be more organized to have that opportunity.
Thanks for considering this change.
