They are not the same thing. Rushing to TH9 is about everything you do leading up to completion of your lvl9 TH. 8.5 is about everything you do after your TH upgrades to lvl9.Quote:

So I know I do all elixir troops and buildings, also walls. But would it be alright if the only new defense i got was my xbows? I have been dying to get them but still a th 8, so when i get th 9 i may not be able to hold back from getting them!
