TH8.5 farming, war strategies and upgrade order

Well, we don't really know how the algorithm works...if you max TH8 and then add the queen and camps and spell factory and CC and troops at TH9, you are going to count higher than a max TH8 because those things are part of the matchmaking weight.

I think dropping the fourth AD and putting it to level 6 is a good way to do it because it will totally stop TH8 dragon attacks and keep an early TH9 from stumbling over themselves for 3* with a spam loonion or even lvl1 lavaloon.

And put that AQ somewhere protected, even at lvl1 she has the same DPS as a lvl4 air defense.

Your story is almost identical to mine, but it took my 6 weeks to finish legos. I love and am a full supporter of 8.5 it gives you about 6-8 weeks to get used to th 9 before bringing th9 war weight to wars. ( I also have 600m gold grab, and lvl 13 heros) crazy

All defesnes add war weight in various amounts so its a balance thing. For me I waited 2.5 weeks to start building any new defenses so I could at least have 220 troop space, 30cc space and lvl 5 hogs to back the war weight any new defensive buildings bring. It's all a balance, you want to always back your war weight with offensive power. It's better to have more offensive weight than defensive. But you have to way the pros and cons the little bit of war weight might be worth the 4th AD if your getting crushed by lvl 8 drag attacks still

IMO its the 1 and only defensive building (maybe get the tesla as well) that your should start building and yes get it to 6, but after your lab, spell factory and 4 army camps are completed, they are priority

But I'd go ahead and do the AD immediately. Those other things require elixir, even with 5 builders you can't keep them all busy right away on that stuff because that's just too much elixir at one time

Don't bother. Th 9 doesn't give enough good offense to make it worth it
