Hiho,
since when Ive got almost maxed troops, I want to upgrade Dark Troops now, but don't know what upgrade first.
Hogs to L5 or Valks to L5. Atm have them on L1, and actually don't use them because on this lvl they su*ck.
Any ideas what is better to start upgrading? Hogs attacks are pretty good in Wars, would like to use it, but I saw on YT not bad valks attack.

I would get hogs upgraded first as 3 star strategies tend to involve hogs more often than valks. You can 3 star with compositions involving either troop of course, but typically you will turn to your hogs more than your valks.
Pretty sure valks only go to 4.
Have you considered golems or witches?
Sure, my fault. Valks to L4. Golems and witches are maxed, I use them a lot, so wanted to upragde them as fast as possible. Will think about these Hogs. Thank you guys :)Quote:

The he game isn't what it was before with hogs, and while they are a great troop to have at level 5; Valkyries have some Awsome stats when maxed and can be more versatile, depending on your level and area of play.
Since you mentioned clan wars, I'll speak on that. I don't know what your town hall is, you didn't mention, but I'm guessing either 9 or 10. Either town hall allows you to Max Valks and Hogs.
Maxed hogs are great to use, however giant bombs are now, as you know, specifically designed to wreck hogs. That plus the pesky skeleton traps and springs, they have lost their touch as a "one size fits all" kind of troop. Hogs are mainly used now to supplement other attack strategies, or flank defenses to aid in getting a 3 star. Great troop
The reason I said to upgrade Valkyries first tho, is because they are the best troop in the game pound for pound when it comes to stripping out the core of an enemy base, there isn't much room for debate. They also expected have like 1200 hp when maxed, meaning they can survive a DOUBLE giant bomb blast. Valks are also known for their ability to shred enemy cc troops, meaning less time luring and more time attacking the actual base. A lot of people use witches in their cc and Valks are the best answer (FME) because they don't play with the skeletons, they wipe them all out with one swing and head straight to the witch. Another reason you should go with Valks, is because they are the most underrated troop in the game, so less people will expect you to use them. There is no such thing as an 'Anti-Valk' base, like there is with hogs.
Dont get me wrong, both troops have their strengths AND their weaknesses, but where the game is right now? Valks are what I reccommend. the info u gave was a bit vague, so I tried to fill in some blanks, keeping clan wars in mind.
last thing I will say is this, to sum it up. I'd rather add 4-5 Max Valks to your existing comp, headed to the core, than add 4/5 maxed hogs, who need a heal spell like an asthma pump after a few hits. Valkyries are true Warriors.
I disagree. Hogs are very viable in their current state. As you said they aren't the one size fits all all army they were before but by no means are they useless as the main force of an attack.Quote:

i would say hogs since then you can take on almost any th9 if used correctly, while valks only work for certain types of bases. and also check out onehive raids on yt for how to use hogs vs th9s
Hogs are a unit for high th8s (lvl4) hitting other th8s and low th9s hitting down or other low th9s. If you are a mid to high th9, and have them only at lvl1 I would not upgrade them. By the time you have them maxed and are skilled enough to use them in war, you will be too high so they dont have any advantage for you. Max valks instead. This suits your attacking style much if you are a GoWi attacker and it prepares you better for th10 where valks are still strong maybe combined with some lvl5 pekkas. Hogs on the other hand do really suck when attacking even low th10s with infernos on multi.
Yes I know many elite war clans use hogs but in very rare cases it is a mass hog attack, but more a combined for of golems, wizards, maybe loons and very high heroes and only because 3 stars are the only thing that counts. In an average cw it is better to have only 30% success rate in 3 staring and 95% success in getting 2 stars than doing risky attacks that give 3 stars 50% of the time, but in 50% of the cases leave a village with 0 or 1 star behind.
