th 9.5 ???

It definitely works. Examples of clans that use it to the extreme are the defenseless clans and I think Gay Martians does it, sorry if I am wrong.

Here is an example:
You are a clan of TH9s. In theory you are currently matched against another clan of TH9s. If you upgrade to TH10, it will take 10 days for each camp, 6 days for spell factory, 6 days for lab, and 14 days for your cc. If you build your two inferno towers and xbow, they will be immediately added to your war base and your troops have not changed at all. In your next war match, you will be matched to all TH10s that have those defenses. Chances are, they have been TH10 longer and will have the max camps, spells, etc...so you are at a disadvantage.

My own opinion is to not stay at .5 or perhaps don't even call it that, just do offense and defense evenly considering build times and when things are added to your war base...

As a 100% maxed th9 - now moved on to 10 this is all laughable.


You mean to tell me that you still cant two star a th10 while you were a th9? What is everyone hiding from?

I guess unless you don't belong at th10 and is trying to trick matchmaking?


Anyways, this is so dumb- its only common sense to build your camps/cc/sf/lab before anything else anyway.
But to hold your base back because you cant two star a th10 - well if that is your scenario you had no business upgrading th to begin with.

Of course we can two star a TH10, that's easy, unless they are mid-upper. What I'm saying is, what is the point, war wise, to upgrading your defenses, if all you do is get 1-2 starred now? Why increase your chance of getting tougher opponents for little to no gain? I mean it's a strategy.

I'm sure the first thing 90% of the people do at TH10 is build their infernos and xbows. Now they are a TH9 offensively, going against a decent TH10 and are going to get frustrated. If you don't care about war, then play the normal game and max till you drop, it's a good thing. Can you give me any reason, if winning war is your only objective, to upgrade defenses past the point of when you no longer are getting 3 starred?

9.5 makes no sense as inferno towers are the best defensive structure in the game...

Lol yeah they are, that's why a 9.5 doesn't build them, because they don't want to face them.

Imagine being a th9 offensively and having to go against a th8. Or a th10 offensively going against a th9. That's the point, you have the next THs offense, but are paired against a TH below you.

I personally am doing TH9.5 right now. Why do people stay at TH9 so long? Walls and heroes..

From my experience so far:
DE is much easier to get and you get a 3rd drill.
Gold/elixir is similar but have to adjust to farming only TH9&10

I farm in crystal and leave my TH outside and get TH snipes 90% of the time. So whats the purpose of adding the TH10 defenses?

Why not go TH9.5? You can upgrade heroes easier and walls at a similar rate.

My clan has several doing the TH8.5 route and many of them will have heroes near 30 by the time they actually finish maxing TH9 defenses. Feel free to stop by if you want to chat about it @ "Bladder control"

I'm going to TH10 in a few days and I'll be doing the .5 strategy. Main reason is that my lab is maxed so I don't like the idea of wasting weeks without upgrading any troops or spells. Plus I'm at the point anyway where I get mirrored with preemie TH10s, so It's either attack lower opponents or upgrade so I can get max camps and freeze to take on infernos.

How has this effected your clan war matchups? Are you still being paired up against Th9s? Did you max defense at TH9 then move up? I just started my TH10 upgrade and i'm leaving all mortars, canons and 4 Archer towers at TH8 level. Everything else is max,(minus bombs) and have mostly legos, 40 lavas, maybe 30-40 skulls still, heroes AQ22/BK20. So I'm definitely not maxed, but I can defend my base just fine in war or raids, so extra defense doesn't excite me.

Just wondering what you experienced and how upgrading camps etc. has effected your war weight.

If someone upgrades to th10 and immediately builds both infernos and the third xbow without upgrading their army camps, spell factory, and CC they are a burden in clan wars.

My clan has 1 TH10 with inferno towers that wars with us about 50% of the time and both him and I went to TH10 about the same time. We have several near max TH9 defense base, most have heroes combined 20-35, and have started lego walls. Before the two of us upgraded TH to 10, we were constantly matched with rushed TH10s, sometimes would face clans with 8-10 bases with inferno while we had 0. After the upgrade, he built inferno and I did not. I haven't noticed any significant difference in the war matchups as we were getting matched with TH10s before because of the high weight of our TH9 bases. Pre-TH10 upgrade I was ranked 3-4 on the defensive map, post TH10 upgrade with TH10 offense I am the same ranking.

I'm in about the same position as you regarding base upgrades but behind on walls. I have left cannons and mortars at TH8 level because I don't see the additional benefit of their upgrade vs dumping that gold into walls. My thoughts are to upgrade defenses that stop 3 star attacks and cannons are ground only. I've been happier having lava walls in front of my AQ to slow down cb/shattered attacks. In the end, it might depend on your clan and what you enjoy. We won 90% of our wars before I did this and still do, so is there really a difference?
