Resource targeting troop

Goblins are the only resource targeting troop. I think Supercell should create a higher end troop that can target resources. Possibly a Dark Barracks 5 troop or Barracks 11 troop.

I'm not great at making stats, but I'll try.

Lets just say this is a dark elixir troop. It would be flying (doesnt have to be, just thought a flying dark unit might be coming soon anyway) and target resources. I don't know what it would look like, but since the hog rider is something riding something, maybe it could be a goblin on a pterodactyl. Since lv1 golems are 450 DE, this could be 500. I think it should really only be used for resources, so possibly 50 DPS with 5x for resources. It could also have about 3000 hp since it wouldn't be a tank like the golem. It could also take 15-20 housing.

I really tried to think out this idea, but as a TH7, I don't know a whole lot about what the higher level players want. In my opinion, this troop should only be available at TH9 and 10, or maybe just 10. I'd appreciate any additional details anyone wants to add, or a comment.

If you don't agree, please don't say "no 10 char" please give me some reasons so I can work on the idea.

Most TH9s and 10s who would want to spend 500 DE on a troop would not be hunting for resources. I think this troop would make more sense as a mod to the minion's AI instead.

It makes sense that there would be a a DE troop that would target resources. Most of them have a very unique ability so far, jumping, spin attack, splitting, so I would expect them to continue this trend.

DE troops really aren't on the menu (except minions as they are cheap) for resource hunters, though.

I think a resource targetting troop that cost a fair amount of DE would be counter productive. DE is rare enough such that I think it would be difficult to make a profit from one vs. simply using non DE troops.

Yeah or it would have made a good lv2 dark barracks troop if they hadn't made it yet. My idea was to make it more powerful, and minions can still be taken out in mass numbers just like goblins... I sorta hoped they would be used in small numbers but be harder to take down.

I would hope they would have a cool ability for it like a "last strike" balloon-style.

I didn't think of that... They would waste DE but hopefully pull in a lot of gold and elixir. It should be an elixir troop or a very cheap de troop. The problem is that if you make them similar to a minion, you would end up with a flying goblin.

Yeah the first thing that popped into my head was a cheap flying goblin...but that does seem quite close to a minion.

It wouldn't be worth making a lv11 barracks for it. It would have been better if I had this idea before dark barracks was introduced. Got any ideas on how to incorporate it?

There should never be a flying, resource targeting troop. If it weren't for walls it would be impossible to stop a couple tanks + goblins + rage from cleaning out any base.

So basically you're saying jump spells, goblins, and golems can 3-star any base? The point of this was to not be a flying goblin. It would take 15 to 20 housing space and be somewhat closer to a dragon.

Not 3 star, by cleaned out I meant loot completely. Just think how trivial it would be to loot bases if you could deploy resource targeting dragons.

True, but if supercell put this in the game they would make it balanced. My idea was just a start. The hitpoints could be reduced so air defenses could wipe them out. This would at least require some effort to take out the AD's first.

How about dark elixir mole men. They would have low hit points above ground, but untouchable below ground.
They would dig a tunnel to the nearest storage slowly, 20 squares every minute (halfway across the village).
They need an empty square to pop out. Once the tunnel is complete, you can send in a wave of goblins into the tunnel to gather the loot.

They would need cover starting the dig. ie giants to absorb damage
Once they pop out, they would need time to survey the next target. Susceptible to fire.
They are not strong by themselves, but can open additional pathways to the loot beyond wallbreakers.

hows about a form of like a goblin, orc, ogre something of that extent with a jetpack and a vacuum to eat up resources. just a cool feature i would think if we added a flying resource troop

It wasn't very well explained, leaving a few questions, but I loved the idea! I think (another), DE resources troop would be excellent and if it was flying thats even better

Isn't it konda like a unique goblin? Plus spin attack, jumping and splitting are unique unlike resources targeting.. Don't really liek the idea as it is op and VERY beneficial for farmers!

I might like the idea if it could be implemented properly. I think you have posted on my thread questioning most new dark elixir troops, and I recently was informed of a different way to unlock troops where they were unlocked by gameplay (e.g. competing campaign for a special *coughs flying*goblins) and could be placed in the bottom row of the DB making seasonal troops as well as new lower leveled troops a possibility. There could also be a level requirement(unlock above before below) as well as the option to gem the achievement(only for the benefit of the troop). I think a resource targeting half minion half goblin below the minion and having the same stats + x2 damage on resources would be realistic. Some may say that'd be too OP with the x2 damage, but remember resource targeting is a double edged sword.

To all those who complain about it being for farmers:
1 We're all entitled to our own way to play.
2 Do you use every troop every time now? If so I'd like to see a good army composition like that.
3 Not all updates affect all players, I know I'll only get maybe one level 11 wall just to say hey fellas look what I got. Just roll with the punches.

But seeing as it's not gonna be used in higher level gameplay,
how about we have this unlocked through some other way?
This troop can be below minion, but isn't unlocked through your regular upgrade method.

Someone mentioned a seasonal troop or an achievement - Hey, that's not a bad idea.
How about using 1000 or 2000 minions, you unlock a new troop called <insert name here>?
Then the troop will appear below minions.

I think it adds a fine twist to the dark barracks.
So maybe the upcoming troops in dark barracks will all be unlocked through achievements?

But for a farming unit, 3000hp and 500de is too much.
Your regular raids won't even get you 500de.

I didn't know how to make a table so I changed yours.

This idea sure has changed a lot. I guess it could be a flying goblin.
After a pesky goblin broke into the dark barracks and drank dark elixir, our scientists observed as it grew in size and strength. It also grew wings!
I don't like it, though. It's not worth a new barracks level, and I don't think unlocking troops any other way but upgrading is ever happening.

This is my take on it, 500 hitpoints is just too much, maybe it can be unlocked at lvl 3 dark barracks; valkyries and golems should be moved up a level, and it should be available at th7/th8. People don't really farm at th10 and those who I know of already use dark troops.

I imagine a blackish goblin zooming around and grabbing loot out of storage's.

Good idea, but I don't think it should be added to Barracks lvl 11, or Darl Barracks Lvl 5. In my opinion it should be unlocked as a T2 troop that cost 170 elixr at lvl 1, and it's cost and DPS increases as you level it up. I also like the idea of it flying, or riding an object.
the one thing I object to is it it costing so much, high level players aren't usually looking for resources, but my idea could fit in a bit better.

You are going to use 10 housing space for something that can be killed by a single AD rocket? My idea was something that is used in less numbers but is harder to take down. Also, moving everything back a level is not really a good idea. This idea sort of died, it was good but there is no way to get it into the game in a reasonable way that wouldn't require a major update. Unless somebody could think of a better idea for how to get it in, I think my idea is done.
