Has been suggested like 100 times and SuperCell replied to the suggestion for half of those times. They claim it is hard to be coded and that it might not be included in the game, this being the official reply from them. Now unofficial, it's only them who know.
I love how there is at least one post about this a day, along with the post about stopping zapping. And the myriad of others that are the same thread everyday.
SC will do nothing of reducing the power of diamonds.
If a suggestion can be achieved by diamonds instead, it must be ruled out.
In My humble opinion it is economics. Myself included when working on heroes (and being in a non stop war clan) when I put my hero down for upgrade I gem the time for my attacks. I know for a fact I am not alone. this would cost SC in the millions to suddenly allow an upgrading hero to be available. In terms of the code this is not true as evidenced that the Kind & Queen (regardless of their state in your village) are always awake for defense in the war. People need to simple realize this was (In my opinion) an economic business decision. IF NO one gemmed them for war attacks they would easily give this feature out. If you got paid many times every day for something would you give it up?
