Many people who do hardcore war hate the 24 hours of prep day that they have to wait before the real battling begins, and while necessary, it is boring to sit and wait an extra day between wars. Skirmishes would basically be mini-wars, that one could enter to pass the time.
A skirmish would be a 5 man battle that would last 2 hours. These battles would resemble a regular clan war in many ways, but have a few key features that are changed to make it a much smaller deal. When someone in your clan (could be restricted to elders or co's, maybe not) wants to start a skirmish, he chooses as many people to invite to his skirmish as he wants, and the first 5 people who accept will be in the skirmish. When you are invited to a skirmish you get a notification similar to the notifications you get for game updates. In a skirmish you get one attack, and the troops you use are completely free (they take no time to train and cost nothing), this would allow you to practice your war attacks on real war bases without it costing anything. When both teams have used all of their attacks the Skirmish automatically ends, regardless of how long the timer has left.
The reward would be a quarter of what a regular war would give for winning, reduced proportionally to how regular wars reduce for losing/tying.
There would be a 1 hour cooldown between joining a skirmish. This would apply to anyone who joins the skirmish, not just the person who starts the skirmish.
The person who starts the skirmish can choose a timeout time when he sends the invitations, so that if the skirmish doesn't fill up in time, the invitation ends, that way you can be sure that a skirmish wont be sitting waiting for people to join for hours on end, and by the time it starts everyone is offline but the last person to accept.
I hope you guys like my idea, feel free to add anything that i may have missed or made unclear, and any constructive criticism is welcome.
