The Curse of War Disconnection

I have been struggling to find the fix for this war disconnection problem for days and its so frustrating because SC won't even bother to help me. I have sent them a message thru Help and Support but all they say is that its due to poor wifi/data connection which isn't true. I already got disconnected 5 times in 3 wars. After 5 seconds of starting the attack the low/weak signal icon appears and that't it. I'm disconnected. When I reconnect, it appears that I already used one of my attacks with no troops deployed and with 0% damage to the opponent's base.

This disconnection problem never happens to me when raiding/looting so I am very sure that my wifi connection is not the problem. I also tried to use my girlfriend's account on my device with same wifi connection to attack in war (same war where I always get disconnected) and the attack went smooth.

I already disconnected my account on my other device , thinking that this is causing the the problem. I uninstalled and reinstalled the game, the Google Play Games, and cleared the cache. I already did everything but its hopeless.

What kind of sorcery is this? :(

Happened most often after last major update, but nothing recently. Haven't been disconnected during war since I upgraded my wifi. Cost me a pretty penny, but it think it was worth it.

The problem only occurs when I attack attack in war. There is no disconnection when raiding or looting so I think the problem is with my account. I used my gf's account on the same device, same connection, and war, and same day to attack and her account did not get disconnected. So I believe that the problem is specifically on my account only. I also joined other war clan and I still get disconnected.

Do you think this problem will get fixed after the next maintenance?

We had a couple of disconnects during wars last fall so I just did the following. Before attacking I verified my connection was strongest possible in my settings. If it didn't show full bars I waited until I had a really strong connection or went somewhere I would. Once I started verifying my wifi was solid my war disconnects went away.

We were having weird issues whenever a vehicle that uses satillight tracking went past our farm. We live on a busy federal hwy and our farm is boardered by a train track, so lots of wifi disruptions going on. Was really irritating! Updating to the most reliable wifi device helped considerably!

i don't know that any maintenance on sc side will help your issue as I doubt that they would muck with an idividual account. I would say try checking your wifi before attacking and if it's not full bars then wait or head on down someplace that has excellent wifi. I liked to sit outside one of the bars or go to the library when my sons were playing baseball just so I could utilize their awesome service. Found them to be really reliable.

Thank you Birdcraft. I will try your suggestion. Maybe I would use my mobile data connection instead of my wifi connection. I have to wait for 36 hours again to see if the DC issue is gone. Its just so annoying.

I actually can't recall anyone ever saying they got dc'd before today and our clan will be a year old on the 12th. This strongly leads me to believe it's server side.

I agree with you that the problem is on the server side not on the wifi/data connection. I hope SC will address this problem because Clash of Clans is not Clash of Clans if you cannot join Clan Wars. I hope someone from SC will notice this post and include its fix in the next maintenance.

I believe OP that I posted a reply to this or someone else copied my reply from another thread?

Just to recap, the problem is caused by serious server lag. android, individual devices, routers, ISP's and SC's struggling servers all have flaws and the extra load SC has put on with the additional server checks means that somewhere in the chain there will be a data loss and this will continue to happen until SC upgrades their servers to cope and optimises the data collect speed in the in-game server checks. That is quite a task and won't happen soon.

Im pretty sure they will be aware of it as any in-house networking experts will be measuring data load on the servers constantly. The reason you won't be getting direct replies on here or straight answers by support is because they know it's affecting a massive amount of people. They can't address it for a single person, its a fundamental operating flaw they have to address so as is habit, they will patch over it and fob you off until they either resolve it or have to admit its a problem because of how long it's taking to address.

I wish I could be more optimistic, but until then all you guys suffering from it worst simply have to wait.

When my battle cut off earlier my game had shown me the poor connection sign and my other WiFi things were playing up, but then Clash suddenly fixed itself. Or so I thought. I began my war attack(mind you it looked good) and seconds after I started the poor connection sign was thrust into my face to meet a tidal wave of anger, not long after I began hastily throwing down troops in hope that if the battle continued while I was gone I might be able to scrape 50% was when the dreaded 'Lost Connection' sign crushed my many dreams.
I think that happened because war attacks require a stronger connection to the magical server land to sync your war progress to the big save gods, so when you connection isn't strong the game probably can't handle attacks.
So I reckon this war disconnection is a result of poor connection.
Funny thing is, the thing your description of the war disconnection is exactly what happened to me earlier, but I'm on iPad, not Android.

I believe that this is not caused by poor wifi/data connection. The problem is with the servers because my main account got DCied FIVE CONSECUTIVE TIMES in 3 wars already. The thing is that only my main account is inflicted with this curse. I used my gf's account on same device, same wifi connection, same war and same day and all of her account's attack went smooth. When I tried to use my main account for my 2nd attack, I got DCied again!

Same thing just happened to me during our clan war. Attack started, I dropped a few troops and spells, then lost connection. The app restarted and half the troops I dropped and spells didn't even get dropped during the reply. I still have my spells and some troops.

I always check my connection before attacking in war. Connection was fine. I had been looting prior to my war attack with no issues.

Very frustrating! Also we are having issues with troops disappearing from the clan castle when someone gives. It's happened twice today! Probably should start a new tread for this issue but it seems something is glitching with the servers.

Edit: after about 30 minutes the cc troops that went missing have now reappeared.

Has anyone have an answer to this? My clan mate has the exact same issue as MicoyXXX. Five consecutive wars disconnected but farming/looting has no issues whatsoever and just happens during war.

micoyxxx what type of network/wifi are you using? My clanmate is using a pocket wifi (portable wifi) which never had issues before. He created a new account and that seems to be working fine. It just started since the last major COC update.

Anyone has ideas please help thanks.
