We should have derby competitors within the same time zone
Hi. I've read multiple posts of people complaining the derby not being fair for multiple reasons. One that most got my attention (I don't know about others) is the fact that most neighborhoods competing gets advantage mostly due to their time zone and that while for others is sleeping hours by the time derby start for them is for example daytime or afternoon. Giving them advantage because they begin with their tasks. Anyone agree on this one?
Thumbs down to this idea...sorry
This would never work because many neighborhoods, mine included, have players from all different time zones. I am asleep when the derby starts but when I finally do get on, many of the players who are different times zones have already trashed tasks that are low and are working on tasks.
What at time zone should we go by? The leaders? Then that would really stink for at least 1/3 of my neighborhood. Besides, I think it would be an unreasonable part of the programming to obtain.
Single Player Derby Timezone Issue
The issue with time zones is particularly significant for single players. If I live in a timezone 5 hours behind other players who live in a timezone 5 hours ahead of me, those players will have a significant advantage of trashing, selecting, and stacking derby tasks worth 320 points each, and therefore will more likely reach the finish line ahead of me. And since placing is determined by who reaches the finish line first, second, and third, five hours to optimize ones playing time, makes all the difference in the world to single players who do not wake up at 3AM to maximize a series of derby tasks that can take on average 24 hours to finish.
I just started a derby, and the top three players in just over 24 hours have managed to each reach 960 points, where I have yet to get any good 320 point tasks in the few hours I have been playing since 8 A.M.
