Pause Builder
Would be great to have the ability to pause builders. The way I envision this:
1. single click on a building that's currently being upgraded
2. menu provides option to pause / free-up that builder
3. if clicked, confirmation dialog tells user that it will cost #X gold/elixir penalty, plus #Y time penalty ... but that when I chose to continue rebuilding it, the timer will continue where I left off, plus #Y penalty (example, given a 30min penalty: a 12 hour upgrade with 3 hours 27 min to complete ... will take 3hour 57min to complete when I select to upgrade this same building later)
4. if user agrees to penalties, gold/elixir is deducted and builder returns to hut, per normal, free to go upgrade something else.
5. the "paused" building has a "partially completed" icon overlay ... if it performs a function, say a collector or barracks ... that function is disabled until the upgrade completes.
I think this would be a great feature, for example, when you realize you need to upgrade walls or finally have the elixir (but not the builder) to upgrade army camps in advance of a coming clan war.
I also think the process above strikes a good balance between the core function and simulating real life construction: there's a cost to move your work crews & materials around ... and this includes a time cost to move them. It also models the real world scenario that a partially completed building or upgrade should pick up where it left off.
I welcome your thoughts...

cross posting
Didn't realize others had already had this idea so I will include links to other similar posts.
Here's one:

I also want to add that I think it's a great idea for a whole slew of use cases, including:
1. last minute pre-clan-war prep
2. use up resources before a shield ends (ie, walls)
3. I think because of #2 there should be a penalty .... otherwise you could pause a builder 10 times to "start" 10 different buildings before taking a long break from CoC ... which wouldn't be fair to people raiding your base
