After a month or so now since the air sweeper got released, I can confidently say....almost not at all. I'm still doing the same attacks with ease and in my opinion, the air sweeper has had little to no impact on my air attacks. I feel this is unfortunate and identifies that the air sweeper could be better...
When the inferno towers first came out, they were only single shot, much like the air sweeper, which is stuck at being unidirectional. I think a significant improvement to the air sweeper (much like with the inferno tower which you can now choose between single and multi mode) would be to allow to choose between 2 air sweeper modes: single/uni direction (what it is currently) and rotating. The rotating mode would make the air sweeper constantly spin around at a slow speed, and covering 360 degrees. I think that since this offers a greater advantage/covers more area, that the 'push strength' for the rotating mode would be less than the single direction mode (much like the inferno tower damage of multi vs single). If the targeted air units get killed/pushed out of distanced, the air sweeper would continue to rotate until it finds its next target. Perhaps the rotating mode only become available at level 4/5 so that it's not as much of an issue for earlier town halls.
This would greatly increase the impact value of the air sweeper, and actually make it a defence structure that people like me, who use air attacks all the time, actually take seriously. Because let's be honest, the way it is right now, it doesn't pose much of an issue at all. There is only one of these, so making it a potential force to be reckoned with I feel makes sense, and in it's current state, it's not much more than another decoration. If we had the option of setting it on a rotating mode, the degree of difficulty and air attack strategies would most definitely change and the air sweeper would play a much larger role in defending a base than it currently does.
