if you hate dragon so much, get an anti dragon base, if you hate hogs then get anti hog.
in war, players compete each other, giving their best defense layout and their best attacking strategy no matter what the troops they using.

and that BRAINLESS huh? kinda insult to all dragon players out there, most dragon hates air defense and they will take down air defense ASAP, that's their tactics and it's not brainless duh.

the bottom line is, if most player can get 3 stars from your war base, get a better layout.

For most of us the objective of a war attack is of course 3 stars. With this "level playing field" of a 50% troop type the results may simply be more 1 or 2 star attacks.. So what? If anything, that alone adds a huge tactical element to the Clan War. Which angle should I attack from? If I stay outside I can likely get to 50% to get one star to tie... but if I come at it from this point.. with giants drawing fire 1st, then hogs from over here.. BK here with a healer & wizards. . I can get to the gooey town hall center - Woohoo! The game becomes a challenge of strategies, not the will to spend 300K on dragons + spells.

If your strategy. .. War after war is:
Step 1 - drop 3 lightning spells on the highest level air defense.
Step 2 - drop 10 dragons - in the same area - all within 3 seconds.
Step 3 - drop your donated dragon - again same area because.. why not?
Step 4 - drop BK - who gives a ♥♥♥♥ where..?

Then yes. That is my definition of "Brainless" in this arena.

I'm not being rude for the sake of being rude. I want to strike a chord - to make a point. The all dragon attack is UNDENIABLY an extremely effective attack. I just feel that when you have such a variety of troops available, but the same ones get used time and time again.. perhaps that warrants a change (or OPTIONAL change) in the rules.

This is a horrible idea for several reasons:

If you start the precedent of "limiting" what armies a person can use, when does it end?

What sort of in-game reasoning is there for only allowing someone use 50% of one type of troop?

What if someone likes to use 5 pekka with an assortment of other support troops? Or 4 Golems? Or 4 Lava Hounds?

What about the Lavaloon? That's gone now too(too many balloons)?

What if we are at the end of the war and a low level wants to attack a higher level for a star because more than half their base is outside the walls? No more Archer Floods (all archer attack cause they can stay out of range easier)?

When you get to low TH 9 are you going to complain that some other combination of troops always three stars you as well?

Maybe my clan is simply horrible at this point, but a TH 8 with Level 5-6 air defenses and a well placed air sweeper is NOT a guaranteed three star. We'll be level 5 in two more wars (2821/3100). We are 16 wins of our last 21 wars and we have NEVER had our TH 8's clear out all of the enemy teams TH 8's with Dragon attacks. Someone always has to change up their army or a TH 9 drops down to clean up when necessary.

People who complain about Dragon attacks are the people who are unable to do the same to the opponents of the same level. There is just as much planning, cutting, placement, using CC troops to draw dragons where we want them, spell placement etc as any other troop, some would say more so given the AI buffs everyone always complains about as well since they "seem" to go wherever the hell they want if you don't place them correctly.

Once you get past TH 8 you will RARELY see a full dragon attack so suck it up.

I don't like this idea for the reason that my clan would choose to not use the option, however if some or many clans used this option it would take away from the pool of clans that my clan could get matched with, potentially making searches longer resulting in worse match-ups then we currently get.

That strat only works against TH7's and TH8's with bad setups. My TH8 at it's current setup has been through 18 clan wars, with only getting 3-starred by an all dragon attack once, and that was pre-sweeper. I have had TH9's unleash 11+1 dragons and fail to get 2 stars... TH8 dragon attacks are only "Brainless" against bad setups and TH7's.

Also, as a side note, instead of saying this feature would be OPTIONAL only 3 times and only all caps isn't enough. You should say OPTIONAL at least 7 times to get it through to people, cause while some of the reasons not to implement it are valid, many of these people have been saying no to your idea because they don't want to be limited in their troops. Big bold and red might have gotten them to understand it was an optional setting.

Nerfing the troop with the smallest window of use is both a waste of time and a bad idea.

That strat only works against TH7's and TH8's with bad setups. May result in searches taking longer? So what? The war takes 48 hours to complete.. If anything I would love to see the search take longer to find a better match up. Take the additional search time from the prep time would be nice but that's it's own issue.
It takes from your pool - this would be true, but it also opens up the opportunity for your clan to actually try something different - knowing that your opponent is also subject to the same troop rules.
You say you rarely get 3-starred by dragon attacks.. (once from the last 18 wars.?) From this... I would suspect that ur a competitive, adult gamer, given that you dedicate enough energy to CoC to keep track of stats. Well that's not everyone. And this game does not need to limit itself to your specific demographic. The more OPTIONS. . The more interest,.. The more players - who may step it up & go play in your pool.

My repetitive use of the word "optional" is designed to address the short-sighted panic that ensues when a suggestion like this gets interpreted as something that will force a change on people who utterly miss the point because it addresses their bread & butter attack style. If you contribute to this forum in a meaningful way you have certainly seen this.

If you are TH7 and you are experiencing this issue then yes, I agree it's a problem but it's a short window of time that it's a problem...

If you are TH8 and you are experiencing this issue then don't worry, you're only a few weeks away from this no longer being an issue, hang in there, you're almost out of the window...

If you are late TH8 and you've upgraded all of your air defenses and your base is being 3 stared by those 4 steps, then whoa there, it's not a game design flaw, it's your base design flaw. You don't need to be TH9 to defend against an all dragon attack like you're describing. All you need is three air D level 6 or maybe even level 5 and a good base design.

Here are some suggestions. Dragons will follow a pretty specific path, always to the closest building. They will abandon this to chase cc troops but other than that it's pretty predictable. Design your base so they path AROUND your air defenses and your air d will mow them down while they are happily chewing away on other useless structures. Another idea is to form a 'wall' in front of your air defenses with high hit point structures such as your gold, elixir, de storages, your cc, and your king.

I have a TH8 mini that I rarely play any longer. Basically he gets inserted if we need an extra base so we don't need to drop 4 people. It's not very well upgraded so generally sits near the bottom of the TH8 bases so it gets attacked by dragons quite often. It's not uncommon to see 4-5 1 star dragon attacks per war before the opponents figure it out or just give up. Your 4 steps will lead to 1 star every time.
