Unleash the kraken !

Discreetly, men with balaclava entered the battlefield. At first, we thought they were wizard - but it was worse. Our canons were shooting some barbarians when a crack appeared in the ground. It was him : the KRAKEN !

- What makes this unit/spell unique compared to the other units/spells in the game

The Kraken is not an unit or a hero. He's summoned by cultists. Cultist are units with low HP that are trained at Dark Barracks. Cultist can't be placed in Clan Castles.

You have to call minimum 10 cultists to call the Kraken. The force of the Kraken depends of the amount of cultists that you've call on the battlefield. If the cultists die, the Kraken dies too. The Kraken is so tall that he's considered as the same time as an air and ground unit. He's really sensible to air damage because it hits his head (damage x4). The Kraken does A LOT OF DAMAGE to four different targets. His numbers are proportional to the amount of cultists in a small range around him (max 30 ?). The Kraken isn't hit by traps.

- What kind of army composition includes this unit or, how it could combine with other units for more advanced strategies
Cultists are everything except tanky, so a composition with Giants would be recommended. Lava hounds would also be help to defend Kraken's head.Another possibility is to use a Golem to protect cultists and dragonsto destroy air defenses.


- How someone could redo their base to protect against attacks from this unit
Mortar and Inferno towers would have to be placed to cover the whole base despite of this the cultist wouldn't die.People would also have to protect air defenses with air bombs,seeking air mines or skeleton traps. Also, the Kraken have no preferred target. You can so protect your defenses behind a wall of mines/extractors.

This is my idea. I think it would not be just powerful but also interesting to have this unit in the game, because the Kraken has got feet of clay (or feet of cultists).

A very cool and unique idea. It's not too overpowered as air and ground defenses can target it.

I really like the diversity of this troop. I love how you need cultists in order to summon the kraken and how it can be hit by ground and air defenses. I really want to see this troop in the game, good luck!

The max level for dark barracks is 6, and you want it to be 7 or 8? that would mean some changes to the game..

Oh BTW, I like the idea. Not so sure on the part where the kraken dies if the cultists get killed. Also, can it move?

Yes, it can ! Otherwise it wouldn't be very useful, except if we expand his range and so transform him in a kind of tower. But I think that would be more useful if he was able to walk/swim.
The Kraken have a dps and hitpoints proportionals to the number of cultists that surround him, so it seemed me logical that he dies if they're none because his hp would be equal at 0, but it would perhaps be interesting to add him (low) base hp and dps.

one of the best suggestions yet, although I think the kraken shouldn't be summoned. I think it would be better if they just were a troop. I like the ground and air idea although the 4x damage should be nerfed to 2x in my opinion.

You do realize that a kraken is a sea monster, right?

The idea is very nice and original!!
I like the cultists and kraken idea & actually i had a similar idea where a lightning spell would strike when many "Sparks" gather.
Maybe you should add some sort of attack for the cultists [ at least 10dps , so kraken = 150dps]
btw , very impressive idea for a such a new comer , keep it up!

Yes, you're right, the Kraken is supposed to live in the sea. I've got three ideas to solve this problem.

1) The Kraken levitates. I know, it's strange. He flies not very high so ground defenses can target him but he still flies, so air defenses can target him.
2) The Kraken makes a crack. The crack is full of water (or Dark Elexir ?) and expand while the Kraken moves. Ground Units can't walk in the crack, expect Cultists.
3) The Kraken is squid-headed warrior, so he's humanoid and can walk. A bit like Cthulhu indeed, but without the bat wings :

It takes 10 seconds, so their would be a nice summoning animation. Cultist could draw a pentagram that breaks the ground under it and the Kraken could rise from this hole. I don't really know. One thing is sure : Cultists can't move or attack while summoning and have to be in a certain range around the Kraken to give him their strengths.
