Improvements to Global Chat

As a frequent user of the global chat, whether to recruit clan mates or to just chat with other players, I have noticed many areas that need to be improved. Some ideas may coincide with other threads.

1. Switching between Global Chats

After reading through some of the threads, I found out that this feature is highly requested, thus being first.
This feature would really make the global chat be more convinient to use especially for people looking or recruiting people into clans. Since we have to switch between different global chats to advertise and recruit for our clan. A button to switch global chat made available would be highly useful. Instead of having to close the app- kill the app - then re-login again, which is a tedious task.

2. Native Language Enabled

Some clashers prefer to speak their native language in the global chat. This can lead to many 'wasted trips' by clashers as some people may prefer to speak their native language in the global chat.
Thus, it would be convinient for clashers to have an options in the settings on their preferred language in global chat, thus people who choose to speak english can be posted to a more suitable chat, or a clasher who wishes to speak in malay, for example, can be posted to chats which speak malay.

3. Upvote/Downvote on Player's Profile.

This is a feature I feel is highly needed. In Global Chats, I often meet many spammers, vulgar, people who beg and clan hoppers (people who join a clan for troops and soon leave for other clans). Thus, how this feature comes into play is that players in the global chat get to upvote or downvote a player's profile. This will ensure that clan hoppers looking to join a clan would be easily visible to others through their negative profile. Even spammers and people who spew vulgarities can be easily identified.
This feature would also be highly valuable to clans looking to recruit clan members. By seeing someone with a negative profile, they can guess if that the player may be a potential clan hopper and thus not get taken advantage of.
This feature can be similar in a way to chat reporting, where people have only limited amounts of votes per day and that people who down vote someone else has to specify a reason as to why they down voted that person, which is in a way similar to chat reporting.
I can see how this feature can be easily explotied by others which would lead me to my next suggestion.

4. Reporting Features.

Although this is said to be exploited and overused by others, feel that this is a necessary feature. However, it has a few flaws.
The people who are often reported get away scott-free. After using the global chat for sometime, I feel that many of said spammers, beggars, and vulgar players are never banned from using the global chat as not many people bother to report them.
Another feature is that instead of just plainly 'reporting' the player. There could be a feature where players can specify for what reason they are reporting the player for. Examples are such as Scamming (for clan hoppers and the like), Spamming (beggars and people who 'overuse' emptes can come under this) and Inappropriate language use (yes despite the censoring of vulgarities, many get by this by using slangs and symbols to represent the letters).
Which brings me back to Idea Number 3, Upvoting and Downvoting them. There can be a feature where people who are frequently reported get a negative profile.

I disagree... I think that giving a good or bad vote is a sign of a good or bad clan member... Maybe its done only once and not just when they leave a clan... Just an idea

What OP meant by item 2 is having a larger selection of preferred spoken languages in the game's chat. It's different/separate from choosing the UI language. It's like offering support to the already established interface languages, but allowing at the same time choosing a more specific, preferable language to be used at the global chat. Thus, you'd have a better separation by spoken tongues and improvement of communication between players.

What I meant in No. 1 would be an easier way to switch between global chats, instead of having to kill the app all the time. Just 1 quick press of a button and you switch global chat instead.

Native language as in their own preferred language to one servers, I dont see that feature though.

3 although can be exploited, I feel it is a need to be able to easily distunguish between scammers and genuine players. Unless you have a better suggestion to curb this problem?

4 although is already in-game, it does not have much effect. There is no specification implemented for reporting a player yet.

I wonder if u just read my headings and not my explanation?

A "refresh" button in order to change the global chat would be indeed an awesome and extremely used feature. Instead of having to close the app and opening it up again, waiting for the loading time and maybe even getting attacked in the process. Since the idea of a player advanced search probably has a long way to go, having this would make the job of manually recruiting a little easier to deal with.

A upvoting and downvoting system is also an excellent idea. Since the "report" function has been massively nerfed due to the "abuse" of the function - as if being prohibited from participating of the global chat for 24h was some sort of grand penalty - this function would be used a lot. Even if players don't take it too seriously, it would still have some sort of based player reputation reference. Clan leaders would think twice before recruiting a player with a profile too downvoted. Plus, if the first "and only" priority ever is avoiding abuse, make it reset every season, why not.

Only big change I would like to see in globals is letting people who can chat in the clouds to mute people. It is a feature that I wish I could have every day!

I am indeed confused by your suggestion. Muting other players is already a feature. Did u mean you can prevent others from seeing your message??

Muting is a stopgag solution, it doesn't fix anything. A voting system would be useful in order to mark undesirables and helping future recruiters from inviting unwanted players.

Ohh so that's what it meant. With that feature you can say bye to all those spam emotes and those people who go"'/clear chat __________" and those who just asks for girls.

Well, not every idea is perfect.
My initial plan wasn't for it to be spammed anyways.

Dude, I think you should post your problems elsewhere, maybe in the help section? I don't think your problem fits the category of my post. :)

Add functional recruitment/guild search tools, then do away with global entirely. All of the problems with global end up fixed instantly.

I agree with number 2. I am from Indonesia, but when I click English language and go to global chat, all I see is Indonesian players are chatting in the GC. Sometimes I want to go chat with other players from other countries that speak English, but now it is impossible to do that because it seem that the language option is bounded to the player region. so either supercell add Indonesian in the language option, or do something to make me able to chat with English speaking players from other countries. thank you
