How can I make them realize this isn't good?

Please , someone, tell me if I'm missing something here. I'm being told that the cannons on the outside of this lowbie base in our clan is to distract giants...however, I'm fairly certain that the giants won't be walking around the walls just to hit the cannon on the other side once the 1st goes down.

Also, the "giant bomb hole" is a trap. which I'm not agreeing with at all....There's indeed a hole by the giant bomb on the left side of the base.
