Gemming research time?

Hey guys, just wondering if the difference between level 5 to level 6 giants is worth the price of gems. My clan is cup pushing in a couple of days and I rarely buy gems, but thought I'd try and get my giants ready for the 2000-2400 area.

My level 6 barbarians finish in 1 day and 6 hours, and I reckon I can farm the extra 2 million elixir I need for giants within that time.

Would they actually be worth the money? Or, even better, will they help a whole lot more than level 5 giants would up at that trophy level?

I'm always sceptical of buying gems on this game, just making sure if I'm getting my money's worth.:)

I dont think that buying gems for anything other than builders is really worth it, and i think that the difference between lvl 5/6 giants isnt worth the gems. Id definitely farm for that elixr and do the upgrade, but id let the upgrade finish naturally (i think 10 days).

To gem the time? Yes. Giants are prob the best farming troop upgrade 5-6. (balloons are truly the best however)

While they do have a nice increase in Stats, (probably the best for the Lvl5 troops) IMO they are not worth gemming to acquire. Maybe to lower the timer some at the end, but I would not gem the lab and spend gems on a unit that I can acquire with regular non-gemmed farming. otherwise you could get into some serious spending again IMO...

When I spend gems, its typically to shorten an upgrade in the waning moments, so I can sleep for the night or get one going early in the A.M. hrs (before work) or if I have the day free and can raid a lot and get some walls done.

the only other thing I would recommend gemming is the barrack boost on a barrack(s) or two to speed up raiding so you can potentially get more resource in a shorter time frame. so when your Barbs finish boost the barrack, and get some reso quicker/easier with stronger troops.

gemming troops (well barracks specifically) can get you more reso. Barrack Boost is one of the few things I can justify spending gems on other than the builder huts. and maybe lvl 6 Archers/AQueen.. but Im still TH8 so I have a while before I decide on that. but Im sure Ill farm them too.

I don't have an excess of gems so I usually just farm my base up. and wait patiently. Trophy push can be fun, but if your defenses are not maxed its will be hard on defense. and the lvl6 troops will sting.

If youre not a regular gemmer it can be a nice treat. I am mainly a farmer so when I went up to that trophy level I still iused tier 1 troops. The level 6 giants helped tremendously in soaking up the x bow fire. 800 HP helps a lot.

I'm still undecided as to what to do. I may gem the last couple of days. I've only ever bought gems before for my 4th and 5th builder, which I definitely think was worth it...

The upgrade has started though, and I would never gem resources haha.
