I remember watching a video that said the devs never intended for farming to take place. Their last update to the matchmaking is making it even harder to hit for loot rather than get trophies to climb a ladder most aren't interested in until TH 9/10. That said, I think if you would reduce the need to make farm bases by keeping your village happy, you would indirectly train people to be better at war by balancing offence and defence. Maybe make it so the net change in trophies per day/week affects the overall morale change. That way, if you get nuked once, you have more incentive to get offensive to even or gain a net positive by the end of the period allotted. There would have to be a way to make it so a higher TH won't get anything for attacking lower. Perhaps make it so only attacks at the same TH or higher count.
