My custom TH9 Base. It has served me very, very well.

Hi guys I'm new to the forum this is my first thread. Ive been playing CoC for over a year now and each TH I've always made my own custom base designs. Ive settled nicely into this base design and really like it alot. I dont usually make layouts that are equally defensed on all sides so much as "luring" opponents into strong/trap side.
What I want is attacks from the north/east/west, which I do 85% of the time. If not 90%. 75% of attacks are usually typical lvl6 Giants/archers/barbs with the archers and barbs dropped across resource mines. Theyre empty at all times and the 2 storages are for looks and hold practically nothing. 200 lvl6 archers/barbs get cleaned out by cannon/archer/xbow with evenly spaced small bombs. Its like Saving Private Ryan on D-Day, and fun to watch. 20+ giants being dropped anywhere north,west and east follow the entire trap system. Even when wall busters break through the core, Giants always follow the trap. This morning I got hit with 22 lvl 6 on one side, nothing came out the other. Another "lure" into the north is my 3 storages close in proximity vs the 3 on the south that are spread out, also heroes on the south deter as well. I think they're also scared of the void wall on the south which they know is full of bombs/airtraps/teslas. I really like having all of my wizard towers centralized, hero KILLER and nothing makes it through with enough strength to reach opposite storages. you can do this with air defense for high trophy balloon attacks it chops them down pretty well as theyre rage spells are spent at that point

The weakness that I dont like is air raids from the south. 25 maxed balloons with reach into the core unless you replace wizards with air defense. I keep my trophys low so maxed balloon attacks are far and few between. Right now all 4 of my air defenses are being upgraded to theyve been cleaning me up lately lol. Tell me what you think guys! I didnt think much of it as i really had nothing to compare it too, but after visiting this site and seeing other peoples defense logs, with higher level defenses getting higher % then mine I thought I'd share.

this is todays log. as you can see its a giant killer, its hard not to imagine the frustration of opponents watching their entire Giant army get launched 3 at a time through the entire trap system. The % are small and cosistent, the ONLY reason they even managed the loot is because ALL 4 air defenses are down and both attacks had high level dragons I couldnt defend. I actually keep my defenses that are being built on the south outside of the walls where the cannons are, and bring those inside so that I reinforce. I keep the cannons, now building AD, outside on the south to as a decoy to draw southern giant attacks to the edges and into the trap HOPEFULLY, well placed wall busters will bring them inside but most of the time they do not. My cannons/archers/tesla's are still TH8 max btw.

me too but its effective, with hereo's where they are it works incredibly well. All but guarantees northern attacks, which is how this base is designed. I moved my heros to the east and western tips where my tesla's are, and vise versa, to get more coverage but immediatly began getting attacked from the south. Take a look at how 24 level 6 giants did, pretty awesome considering that can be disastrous with fairys on other layouts. Also Had a nice defense against 44 lvl 4 hogs.

May as well remove that hog attack, a hog attack without heals is worse than a gob attack.

Actually, most your logs are from enemies without spells, gopefully you get some full on attacks soon to post.

Most of those attacks do indeed have spells they just never drop them due to the fail factor. I have a similar thread in 101 that shows the same guys before battle with spells and after battle opting not to drop them

This is a solid setup for your cup range. In that farming region of silver 3 to gold 1, where you mostly see barch and giant+barch/giant+healer comps I can see how it would perform decent. But I don't see this performing well in anything above gold 1. the LaLoon has become too popular for farming and the majority of farmers would go in from the south to avoid the obvious springs in the north with giant comps.

I also prefer your hero's placement, as when farming (especially in that cup range) I prefer to have my healers in nap mode because the return on attacking is ten fold that of defending. But, as it's a farm build, and you would more then likely be in the trophy range you're around, it's a solid setup/approach.

Yea, I constantly change my defenses to what cup im in. I spend most of my time in higher leagues but have been dropping trophies recruiting new members. So in attack when I see a base I like without a clan, ill drop a archer and surrender losing trophies then go back and invite through my war log. When I recruit I drop trophies like crazy which is where im at now. When Im not recruiting and in higher cups this is the modification I make. I tried explaining this in the 1st post but since ive been getting alot of guys still pointing this out i thought Id post a pic. same layout, different defensive variation.

this is extremely effective vs balloon attacks. specially from the south as they get hit with all my air bombs. This is the modifications i make when in higher leagues, I turn my x-bows into both air/ground and air on my skeletons as well. When balloons reach core they fall to all the 6 archer towers shooting in and do not make it to northern storages. When recruiting I run with the setup on page 1. Hope this answers your question. Also, if you arent into keeping clan castle full or arent active in a clan, remove castle and place AQ. Her range fits perfectly within the core..

Spread out your WTs more.
