*Only lv 7 hall*
Have to say Mortar, maxing them all out is the most effective way to get rid of tier 1 troops. If you want my resources, use stronger troops - costing you more elixir. ;)

I see the point some make with clan castle - but it will never get my vote.
Back to back raids render it useless, where something more valuable could be sitting in the middle of your base instead to be effective for every defense.
I do see the point you're making, however your scenario would rarely happen. For example, there's realistically generally 4 scenarios that can occur during a raid:
1. The attacker wins the battle and does destroy the CC troops.
2. The attacker wins the battle, but doesn't destroy the CC troops.
3. The attacker doesn't win the battle, but does destroy the CC troops.
4. The attacker doesn't win the battle and doesn't destroy the CC troops.
Obviously, these are generalized statements, but in 2 of the scenarios, you get to keep your CC troops as long as the enemy doesn't destroy them. In scenarios 1 and 2, regardless of what happens, the defender will get a shield because of losing the battle. Therefore, back to back raids are not viable, unless you don't login until after your shield is up. In scenarios 3, you lose your CC troops, and someone else can raid you, but you won't have CC troops. In scenario 4, you still have CC troops to defend you against the next person that will raid you. The only time you'll see "back to back" raids is if you win the battle and your opponent manages to take out your CC troops. I apologize for the long reply. :p
TL;DR: Back to back raids generally won't occur.
EDIT: Another great thing about the CC troops is that attacking units will target them, allowing your other defenses to attack while your units stall enemy units.
