Speed up farming with gems

Hi All,

I have seen a lot of guide on how to farm effectively without gems. Thanks for all those who contributed! I was able to max TH8 without gems except the gems to get 5 builders.

Now, I have decided to thank COC for a great game by purchasing some gems to support them. The goal is to use gems to speed up all the upgrades but not purchasing resources. I cannot afford to use gems to get all the resources. But, I think I can afford to use some gems to help farm to speed up the rate of getting resources. However, I am not sure how to use gem effective to help farming and I cannot find any guides about this. Any help and suggestions are welcomed and appreciated!! It would be very useful if you can also include how much resources you can get in an hour with your method.

Boosting your barracks gets you the most resources per gem. That's the most efficient (and most fun!) way to gem your farming.

I agree with Blobertson. I would advise not to boost more than 2 barracks at a time though, since they might end up producing troops a lot faster than you can raid. This would kind of make the gems go to waste.

Thank you for the suggestion. My concern about just boosting all the barracks is that sometimes my barracks may not be working due to troops full if I did not use the boost correctly. I have finished a fight with full troops in the past even without gems sometimes. To have an idling boosted barracked decreased the efficiency of boosting. I guess the question then is how to use boost barracks efficiently so they do not idle. My army combination takes 30 min to rebuild. But, I rarely used my whole army. If I it takes 12-20 min to rebuild, a boosted barrack will finish them in 4 to 5 minutes which means high chance of idling.

I can get over 1 to 1.5 mil easily without gems in an hour. I was hoping that I can reach 3 mil of gold in a hour with boosting. Is that possible?

Another great thing to gem is those barrack upgrades.

Ah, thank you. Good point. Just gem two barracks to avoid the possible inefficiency. If needed, we can always gem the third or all four. I guess I can start with two and try it out and increase or decrease the boosted barracks based on the result. Or, just gem any additional unfinished troops.. So, basically, a combination of partial boosted barracks and geming troops.

Good point. Thank you. I am planning to gem all the upgrades but resources will become the bottleneck. So, trying to figure out a way to max resource gathering rate.

My plan is to have 4 builders working on low level (new) upgrades as geming short time frame upgrades are not efficient. That leaves one builder to do the gem upgrades. That is, everytime, I got enough resources for an upgrade, I will gemed this one and start the next one.

I meant once I reached TH9 that is.

if you boost 1 barracks for gobs then go sub50 is it worth it or a waste?
