Farming with Dragons vs Baloons

Both are possible, both are fun and pretty profitable. I'm at TH7, usually it takes 20-30 lvl4 Balloons or 4-9 lvl2 Drags per raid.


Pros Balloons
- Require some skill
- A lot of fun

Cons Ballons
- training is way too long

Pros Drags
- Surprisingly are very profitable
- Much faster in training comparing to balloons. 40 mins per 20 spots for balloons, 30 mins per 20 spots for dragons.
- Pre-filled barracks instantly fill 80 spots with four drags, while with balloons u get only 20 spots filled.
- With drags you can make 2-3 raids in a row if you use 4-6 drags on average and if all four barracks are pre-filled with drags
- Having dragon army makes it easier to donate drags. Clan mates are happy to get them, drags are great at defence
- Drags are good for dark elixir farming, u can get 800-1500 per raid using drags and rage spells (rarely up to 2000)

Cons Drags
- No tactics besides swarming
- Drags are dumb
- Arch towers are much more threat to drags than to balloons, as drags just flying arround

Depends on how frequent you want to battle with a full army.
If you're having a battle every hour, then dragon is the way to go.
A battle every 2 hours, you could have fun with balloons.
Battle non-stop, then arch/barbs/giants/wb/gobs, or barbs+arch, or any other "fast" troops. As long as you get DE =)

That or just goblins :D

why is that? i target resources and can get 400k+ per raid
I know that cheaper army might be more cost effective, but this also works really well and fun too

Why not use a mix of both? :D
Drags to tank and balloons to destroy, you could also mix in a few minions for the resources after your army breaks in.

Th7 can farm with just about any units and still make big profit...
6* bloons have the good side, that you can 100% a place with only a handfull of them if the AD sucks. I'v taken out TH7 with 3 and TH8 with 5 bloons and course few archers in both cases to get rid off CC and AD first. Time is just getting bit close on blooning so I usually drop king and queen to collect the scraps when all defences are gone.

With dragons you can destroy a base and take all the resources which gets you a lot more resources than goblins but it would mean waiting a lot before the next raid and it also takes more elixir to train.

As long as you are raiding for loot and forgoing trophies and getting a good yield its farming
definition: raiding for resources NOT trophies!

Its farming. Just not efficient...
