I've heard many people say that 3 rage is the best way to go with all dragon attacks. For some reason I'm only able to 2 star bases in clan wars while using rage. I am a maxed th7, level 2 dragons and all level 4 spells. I normally use 10 dragons, 3 lightning, and cc balloons. Very rarely do I 2 star a th8 almost always 3 star. I need help with using rage with dragons, people say it's better, but what am I doing wrong?
Researched here in the forum, they advise to use the Lightning spells to on the strongest AD. I used to use rage too. Will be trying the Lightning spell and practice before next war.

When you're attacking another TH7, I believe 3 lightening dropped on a single AD is the best approach. I've never seen a zapped AD with 11 properly deployed lvl 2 dragons not 3* a TH7 base.Quote:

Attacking a TH8 is more difficult. I'd determine your spell composition based on the specific base you're attacking. With a centralized core of AD, I'd use 2 rage, 1 heal. The first rage gets you into the core, past any high hit point buildings. Drop the heal where the dragons are in range of all three AD, or whenever you think they'll receive the most damage. The second rage is used within the core to finish off all the AD.
I like using 3 heals when the AD and the high hit point buildings are dispersed throughout the base. The heals will repair the dragons as they slowly work their way through the base. I use rage when high hit point buildings form a barrier in range of an AD or several archer towers/wizard towers. Otherwise, the defenses will pick off your dragons while they slowly try to get past several storages and a clan castle.
I haven't had luck dropping 3 lightening against TH8s with level 6 AD. I have more luck dropping clan castle balloons on an AD after it begins shooting dragons to take out an AD.
However, if you're consistently three starring bases at equal or greater strength than your own, then I wouldn't worry about using a "better" strategy.

I used all rage pretty exclusively from th7-8 when using mass drag, used drags on the flanks to create a path to the core, then raged over the high HP buildings. But toward the end of th8 I tested a few different attack methods including heals and lightning. I think with mass drag using 1 heal when multiple AD's are trained on one drag or a group helps immensely. I feel like using half loons half drags and lightning worked even better (depending on base), hit far side AD with lightning, drop drags as usual to create a path to core, and send in a line of loons behind drags that will reach AD after CC troops have been eliminated by drags. With the AD distracted by the drags, the loons clean them up and give your drags free reign to finish the 3*. (you can even wait to use lightning to kill cc troops if the AD you're intending to zap is near cc, wait for them to trigger before zapping it). Granted, that was more of a TH8 strategy, but I think lightning has its place, so I wouldn't discard it just because rage is all the rage.
No. No it's not. Ideal is decking the AD's as quickly as possible. Heal spells are useless, they might knock off five seconds of AD time. If the stronger AD is dead to begin with, you have nothing to worry about the entire match from that AD, and can just launch all your dragons at the closer AD which will go down in less than 20 seconds with 1540 dps (minimum) coming at it and it does maybe 200 dps at 20,000 hp. Best case scenario is the remaining AD knocks off two or three dragons, you still have 8 left, easy three star.Quote:
