i have a question. Is loonion strong in town hall lvl 7?
Loonion is one the most popular hybrid tactic but is it strong in th 7. As you all know loonion is lvl 4 ballons and lvl 2 minion in th 7. As a loonion raider i feel it is a strong tactic but i have practiced it for a long time? Could you share your experiences and replay about loonion?
No. No it isn't a viable option as a th7. At th8 with lvl5 balloons you can start experimenting with dragoloonian for de farming sometimes however even at lvl5 I don't find it that effective / efficient as compared to a simple bam / barch / gibarch.
Would not recommend it at all before th9.
This. However if you were to use it as an overnight army you can take out bases with (very, very) weak Air Defenses and largely premature ones. However you may as well use mass drags (for taking down TH7/8s) which have a much higher success rate.Quote:

This composition will 3-star any TH7 if deployed correctly and the CC is lured. It will not work against TH8s; if you want to hit a TH8 mass drags is the only viable TH7 strategy.

*Level 4 balloons don't have enough bulk to stand up to wiz towers or air bombs, and TH7 bases are small enough to hit both air defense with 2 rages. It is best to bring a heal instead of 3 rage.
As with all non-faceroll attacks, it will screw up if you don't lure the CC. Your king should take care of ground troops, and 10 minions will deal with a dragon. Ignore giants, valks, barbs and the likes**
**Also ignore a witch unless has archers or wizards to back it up. It only does the damage of 1 archer and it's a waste of time luring it.
As I was maxing my th7 balloonion was my go to war attack. As long as you can handle taking out the enemies TH with a few barbs archers and wizards you almost always had a great run. Even vs lv5 air defenses. I used 2 heal and one rage. Because the lv 4 balloons aren't as strong, I felt keeping them alive through the wiz towers and air d was obviously crucial. I would bring lv 6 balloons in my castle generally from the opposite side later in the attack to either a distracted air d or mortar. You can use your king as a distraction as well. Depending on how well the balloons split up through the attack the last rage was used either for the cc balloons or lv4s to finish up, sometimes both if they're close enough. My troop structure was as follows:
24 Balloons lv4
2 Giants lv 4- For castle lure or wiz tower distraction
8 Barbs lv 4
12 Archers lv 4
3 Wizards lv 4- key for dragon or valkyrie in cc
19 Minions- used lv 2&3 with success.
I thought it was very viable and used it with a lot of success on my second account. Not a strategy to use against th8s but can be very beneficial and cost effective for th7s vs th7s. Hope this helps.
If your enemy also th7, it's very strong, every th7 has been destroyed using loonion.

I've tried using it during the hogs & loons event. Hogs & Archers raid has higher success rate than balloonion(even with one heal spell). Balloonion is useful for bases with semi-exposed ADs while hogs and archers is useful for bases wih less 2x2 open bases.
th4 - th6 balloons work very well in war. Dragons are safer to use at th7.
In the Farming Arena, I think they are fine. but fall just short of a sure fire 3; like Drags, or Hogs in mass can be..
L4 loons are terribly fragile. and are easily shot down even by low level Arch towers and A/Defs, Wiz Towers Shred them. Heal spell helps a smidge, and Rage is always kind to loons, but if a design is good (War/Trophy layouts; Round-a-bouts) then L4 Loon lacks that HP to survive IMO, since loons are so slow.
its been a while, but recall L5 was the absolute minimum level for effective Loonion army. L4 loons just to weak. Minion level is not quite as important. the higher the better obviously, but low level minions can help a Loonion raid far more than low-level-Loons with higher-level-Minions backing them..
Plus Air Sweeper in TH7 now too. makes it even tougher for L4 Loonion IMO...
I rushed from TH1 to TH9 within 34 days and i warred notstop with loons once unlocked. lv1 to lv6 loons are ok to war and it is a 3 star troop.Quote:

In war th7 Loonion is an easier 3 than dragons, for farming in not so sure (th8s would rip you up) but for war it is uber good
Please don't use balloons in clan war when your balloons are anything but level 6.
Dragons are more effective. If it's farming, then sure. But in clan war, level 5 balloons won't let you 3-star another well-upgraded TH-7.

I believe Dragloonion is the strat that the top peeps were using before the introduction of lava hound. Dragloonion's success rate is higher than Balloonion's.Quote:

My strategy:
I drop the dragons to act as "meat shields" on the corner defenses. then drop balloons in a line. Then drop the cc loons. Place rage spell and heal whenever necessary. Then drop minions. Then drop the BK for clean up. Kinda like what you do in a lavaloonion attack
I am not the utmost expert in dragloonions, in fact I am new to this strategy. The reason I am trying this strategy is because of the high cost of mass dragons and our clan is constantly at war. Using mass dragons consistently war after war may deplete my elixir fast.
Any tips or advice for me to improve it?
No. At least you should get level 5 balloons IMO.
Sure. When I was th7 I could 2-3 star anyone with a dragloonion attack, which is similar. But you need lv2 minions.
strategy:
3 Dragons
20 Balloons
20 Minions
3 lighnings
Just lightning 1 Air Defence and spam your balloons on the other. Deploy dragons and minions. Boom, you win. It would help for you to have lv5 balloons though...
Plus, its cheaper and quick to make with just 1 dragon barracks
Level 4 Balloons with level 2 minions, imo is a really weak strategy as well placed ADs, leaf blowers and wiz towers can shatter the bulk of it.
Imo mass drags or if your good at it GiWiz are safer at TH7....

Head from the direction where the air defenses are parallel to your attack (AKA you are facing 2 air defense at once. Sounds stupid until you consider the fact that this takes out both air defense before the balloons clump together and slow down.)
Rage on defense path, NOT where you want them to go (towards air defense. Nothing is worse than a rage spell that the balloons ignore.
Heal when 2 airbombs pop up, or an airbomb pop up next to a wizard tower.
