That is why they (SC) advised not to use special symbols in changing your name after the update because some of the characters (symbols) will not appear the way you like it. I saw people with "question marks" on their names because of this. I don't know why people use these complicated symbols where in fact names are used for other people to properly address you or at least know and pronounce your names correctly. Maybe its just for aesthetic purposes but it seems that their quest for style and beauty totally ruined them.
Regarding your question if SC can change your name or at least remove the symbols, I think it won't happen. They already gave their warnings and you have to live with that mistake.

I just want my name right back with smaller symbols, or else my original name Luigfx without symbols, it is not possible?
You best bet might be to wait as SC might remove symbols and emojis from names or add a revert to original username in the near future.

They can only change it unless it's your full name, or if it's offensive.
